Mrs. Ruthy Sanders

Obituary Ruthy Evelyn Moore Sanders was the 4th child of 5 Children born to Fred and Mattie Paul Moore on January 14, 1926 in Eufaula Oklahoma, where she attended school and graduated from Booker T. Washington High school. She was preceded in Death by her husband Arburn Sanders , Father Fred Moore, Mother Mattie Moore, Sisters Wilder Barron, Juantia Polk, and Hortense Covington, and her Brother Sam Moore At a early age she committed her life to Christ, and was an active member of the Methodist Episcopal Church In Eufaula. Sister Sanders married Arburn Sanders in 1946, And God blessed them with two Children (boy and girl) In the early 1950s Sister Sanders and her family moved to Kansas City, Kansas and united with the Antioch Baptist Church. There she served in all areas of the church, while continuing her religious education and graduating from Central Baptist Theological Seminary in 1958. In the early 1960s, She and her Family moved to Missouri, and united with Progressive Baptist Church, Sister Sanders has been a faithful ,hardworking member for over 60 years. She has served in the Sunday school, Baptist Training Union, Vacation Bible School, President of the WMU, Youth Fellowship Counselor for her church. She has worked in the New Era District and State Congress for over 60 years. Some of the offices she has held include: Congress Youth Director, Second Vice President, First Vice President and President of The New Era District Woman’s Auxiliary. In the Missouri Baptist State Convention she had been a very dedicated and faithful worker. Offices she held included: Red Circle Girl Counselor in the youth department, First and Second Vice President. She was employed at the Swope Ridge Care Center for 12 years. She leaves to cherish her memory her son Cleophus Lee Sanders, daughter Aldine Vernell Tolliver, 4 grandchildren Kevin Sanders (Karen) ,Roderick Tolliver (Shavon) ,Angela Sanders, and Veronica Tolliver 16 great grandchildren and 12 great great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends Funeral Service will be held Monday, October 17, 2022, 11:00am at Progressive BC. Interment Leavenworth National Cemetery, LVNKS. Visitation will be from 9am-11am at the church. Service conducted by Lawrence A. Jones & Sons Funeral Chapel. Condolences may be shared on our website.
