Mrs. Rosemary Harrison

Deaconess Rosemary (Rose) Delight Harrison the daughter of William Richard Tolson and Lena Odessa Lyord Tolson was born October 27, 1957, in Moberly, Missouri. She was the first born of two children to this union. and wing an in te men Mise i fore at in Suday Sion yE Auxi Cry an At Young no shi was baptized graduated from Brunswick High School in 1976. She later attended the University of Missouri-Columbia majoring in accounting. After college, she began her professional career at UMB bank where she worked for 44 years as an Operations Specialist. On July 3rd, 1982, she married the love of her life James Alan Harrison. Five beautiful children were born during this union. She always instilled in her children to "Take care of each other and put God first." Rose was the epitome of a God-fearing woman. She was a faithful and active member of Second Baptist Church. During her years at the church, she was involved with numerous ministries including the Deaconess, Social Service, Banquet, American Baptist Women, Wednesday Noon Bible Study, 4:00PM Sunday Bible Study, Women's Coffee or Tea with Me Saturday Zoom Bible Study, and Board of Trustees where she served as a Sunday counter. In her spare time, Rose loved watching her crime shows and documentaries. Some of her favorite shows were Law and Order: SVU, Chicago PD and Blue Bloods. On the weekends, she had her "alone time" with her self-care Saturdays, one of her favorite things to do. Even though cooking wasn't her specialty, she enjoyed frying chicken, fish and pork chops. Her staple dishes were greens on Thanksgiving and making her go-to sweets: cheesecake and cherry dump cake. She also loved her blue bell ice cream and Winstead's chocolate shake. Her husband, parents, brothers Frederick Lee Collins and Irvin B. Lyord preceded her in death. Rose is survived by her five children, James Ryan, Ashley, Adrian, and Javonne Harrison of the city, and Janell Rainey (Terry) of Kansas City, KS; Four grandchildren, Terry (TJ), Janiyah and Tiandra (TT) Rainey of Kansas City, KS, Omari Harrison of Brooklyn, NY; Sisters Lenora Crowder, Linda Akers and Renetta Tolson Robinson of the city; Father in law, Robert Harrison of the city; Brothers in law David Harrison of Los Angeles, CA and Deacon Kent Robinson of the city; Special Friends: Mary Moore, Rev. Dr. Carolyn L. Gordon, Loleita Jiles, Jamie Pritchard (Pup), Lydia Owens, Karen Riley, Deaconess of SBC, Monique Dodds and other coworkers at UMB. Also, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and her Second Baptist Church family. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, September 6, 2024,11:00am at Second Baptist Church. Interment Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Visitation from 10am-11am at the church. Services conducted by Lawrence A. Jones & Sons Funeral Chapel. Condolences may be shared on our website.
