Mr. Raymond Suber, Sr.

Raymond Suber, Sr. was born on April 1,1936, to the union of Manuel & Daisy Suber in Union County, South Carolina. Raymond’s final highway route was heaven, in which he reached his destination was on April 26,2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, loving wife, Edna Suber; his siblings, Eloise Sarrat, Purlene Oglesby, Lucile Suber, Annemay Knight, Louise Bradshaw, Daisey Bell Jeter, Marthan Johnson, Betty Roscoe, Henry Suber, David Suber, Clinton Suber, William Suber and Quinton Suber. Raymond embraced Christianity early in life, being baptized by Reverend A.M. Matthew at Foster Chapel Baptist Church in Roebuck, SC. Upon moving to Kansas City, MO, he became a member of Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church, where he maintained his commitment to his faith under the leadership of Rev B.G Roberson. Raymond served diligently on the trustee board and as president of the usher board for many years. Raymond completed his education at Foster Chapel School in Roebuck, South Carolina. In 1960, Raymond relocated his family to Kansas City, Missouri, where they established their residence. Despite his new surroundings, he retained his distinctive country accent that stood out to everyone he spoke to. Raymond was a man of diverse talents and skills. In 1999, he retired from Amoco Oil Company with 33 years of dedicated service. Raymond was a diesel truck driver responsible for driving gas tankers. He expanded his role within the company and become the head mechanic, overseeing the maintenance and operation of the trucks. In addition to his distinguished career at Amoco Oil Company, Raymond ensured the well-being of his family by dedicating over 25 years to Interstate Book Manufactures and Dr. Moore’s office. His expertise spanned various domains, including automobile mechanics, lawn care, plumbing, electrical work, and housing construction. He built his own home, making additions to it as a hobby over the years which is still standing with great foundation. Raymond was known as a reliable handyman; if he could not accomplish a task, it was deemed unnecessary. Raymond entered into matrimony with Edna Suber on May 23, 1960. Their marriage was characterized by unwavering love and loyalty. Together, they established a legacy and demonstrated the essence of lifelong commitment, serving as an enduring example for their family. This union not only created a family but also laid the foundation for a continuing lineage. He was the embodiment of a true gentleman, who was gracious, respectful, kind, calm, and courteous in all his interactions. Although he was quiet and observant, he could engage in prolonged conversations for hours. He possessed considerable wisdom and knowledge. To his family, Raymond exemplified the qualities of a man and provider always willing to go to great lengths for others. Truly a one of a kind husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. Raymond leaves to cherish his children; Rodrick Meadows (Cynthia), Mary Loretta Chambers (Willie), Raymond Suber, Jr., (Gayle), and Benjamin Suber, (Betty). grandchildren; Benjamin Suber Jr, Avion Brown Suber, Nicholas Suber, Raynisha Elbert Suber, Whitey Suber, Curtis Doggett, Shenita Rodgers (Fred), Emmanuel Meadows, Daniel Meadows, Rodrick Meadows, Angela Meadows, Cynthia Meadows, Latoya White and Jamie Williams, his last surviving sibling of 18, Clara Walfered, special nieces Algeria Lewis, Nina Bradshaw and Kay Roscoe, 19 great grandchildren, a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday May 17, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Corinthian Missionary Baptist Church 6841 Sni A Bar Road KCMO 64129. Interment: Forest Hill Cemetery.
