Mrs. Patricia Rae (Cooper) Franklin

Obituary Patricia Rae Franklin, affectionately known as “Trisha” or “Trish” received an unexpected call to come home on June 15th, 2022 to receive her angel wings. She was born on November 23, 1953, to Ray and Leola Cooper of Kansas City, Missouri. She is preceded in death by her parents and daughter Tia Henley. Patricia accepted Christ at a young age and was a member of Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church. She went to Lillis High School and Westport High School (Kansas City, MO) which is where she graduated in 1972. Afterwards, she attended junior college to obtain her license practical nursing certification (LPN). Patricia was a medical professional who dedicated her life serving others. The lives of literally thousands of people were positively impacted by Patricia's medical skills and compassion. She retired from University Health Truman Medical Center after 38 years of service as a nurse. Throughout Patricia’s life, she blessed her family and friends with her artistic talent of restoring furniture, sewing, crafting, and home decorating. In her retirement Patricia enjoyed gardening, and became a member of the local community garden. She also volunteered her time at the YMCA of Greater KC Linwood location, where she assisted her husband Leon with maintaining the flower and vegetable beds. Patricia loved to travel, and she would make a point to take a yearly road trip to Branson, Missouri to visit the Sight and Sound Theaters for their live biblical performances. Patricia is survived by her loving husband Leon Franklin; daughter Kimberly Tait; stepsons Jovan, Nicholas, and Leon Franklin Jr.; beloved sister Charlene Winfrey; brother Larry Cooper; sister-in-law Marie (Alfred) Oakman; brother-in-law Jerome Franklin; grandchildren Miles(Beverly) Williams and Nicholas Tait; great granddaughter Lalani Williams; surrogate daughter Katrina (grandkids Parker and Nadia) Smith; special cousins Eric (Carla) Merritt, Mable (Donald Sr) Parsons; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, including longtime friends Marian Hardin and Barbara Hammonds of more than 30 years; extended family Marcia Williams and family; William (Carla) Henley and her fur baby Choo Choo. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, June 25, 2022, 10:00am at Ebenezer MBC. Interment Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9am-10am at the church. Service conducted by Lawrence A.
