Ms. Nicole D. Williams

Nicole Dionne Williams, a devoted daughter, sister, educator, counselor, and friend, passed away May 14, 2025, at the age of 48 leaving behind a legacy of compassion, wisdom, and inspiration. Born on January 26, 1977, Kansas City, Missouri, Nicole was a proud Kansas City Native and loved the KC Chiefs. Nicole was part of a large and loving family, growing up alongside her nine siblings. She shared a special bond with all of them, bringing laughter, love, and strength into their lives. At an early age, Nicole surrendered her life to Jesus Christ and was baptized at Saint Stephen’s Baptist Church where she served as a youth usher and a member of the drill team. In Houston, she was a member of The Church Without Walls. Nicole was a youth friend of the Linwood YMCA in Kansas City, MO where she developed a wonderful relationship with her youth counselors, mentors, and directors through her years of being a member. She attended Father Benedict Justice (FBJ), St. Joseph, St. Monica, and Bishop Hogan High (Class of 1995) all of Kansas City, MO. While in high school she developed a love and passion for basketball. As a star basketball player, she landed in the Top 10 of Missouri vs Top 10 Kansas to play in a Basketball tournament designed to scout talented high school players. During the tournament Nicole sustained a severe injury that ended her basketball career early. Although she was injured, her talent landed her a scholarship to play college basketball. Nicole had a deep passion and lifelong thirst for knowledge. Her passion for empowering children and families led her to pursue a degree in social work. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, Missouri and later went to pursue a Master's degree in Education in Counseling from Texas Southern University, ultimately becoming a licensed professional counselor. Her dedication to helping others was evident in every chapter of her life. She began her professional journey in social work, serving families through the Division of Family Support in both Kansas City and Houston, and later Catholic Charities of Kansas City, Missouri. Her path eventually led her to education, where she taught 5th grade for two years in Spring Branch Independent School District. Nicole found her true calling when she joined Katy Independent School District in Katy, Texas as a school counselor, where she guided and supported countless elementary and middle school students over a span of 15 years. Outside her professional life, Nicole embraced adventure and creativity. She loved learning new hobbies such as playing guitar, kayaking, hiking, and reading. She was an avid traveler, always eager to explore new places and cultures. One of her most cherished experiences was a two-week family trip across Europe, filled with joy, discovery, and unforgettable memories. Nicole had a warm heart, generous spirit, and an infectious smile that lit up every room she entered. Her unwavering empathy, boundless curiosity, and a heart that touched everyone she met. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by her family, friends, and all who were fortunate to know and love her. Nicole was preceded in death by her grandparents; Jonathan and Bessie Poole; Lee and Jessie Williams; her father, Billy Williams, and brother, Willie Williams. She leaves behind to cherish and honor her memory, her mother, Lynda Williams of Kansas City, MO; three brothers, Donnell Williams of Kansas City, MO; Andre Williams of Kansas City, MO; and Bryan J. Williams of Houston, Texas; four sisters, Le Shanda Williams of Fredericksburg, Virginia; Danielle Williams of Kansas City, MO; Jailyn Bradley Williams (Maurice) of Kansas City, MO; and Joneisha Williams of Kansas City, MO; step-grandmother, Artis Poole of Kansas City, MO; aunt, Jo Ann Daniels of Kansas City, Kansas; a beloved friend, Andrunicus Gentry of Houston, Texas; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will all cherish her sweet memory. Funeral Services will be held on Friday May 30, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church . Interment: Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation: 9-10:00 a.m. at the church.
