Mrs. Michelle D. Parks

Michelle Denise Parks,58, passed away on January 7, 2026, at St. Luke’s Plaza Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. She was born January 7, 1968, in Kansas City, Kansas to Emmanuel Bey and Rowena Nelson. Michelle grew up on both sides of the state line Kansas and Missouri. She graduated from Southwest high school in Kansas City Missouri in 1986. She attended Penn Valley Community College where she received her associate's degree in early childhood education. Michelle went on to use her college education to start her own in-home daycare business as her love for children was shown through her career in life. She also enjoyed catering as her and her husband ran their own catering business and worked various catering events throughout the years. Her last job was a server at the fine dining restaurant known as Webster House. She worked there for 12 years until she was forced to retire in November 2019 when she received her lung cancer diagnosis. She never let that stop her from living her best life. She continued to travel show up for friends and family and be the fabulous Glamma she was. She enjoyed reading, traveling, HGTV, reality TV, good music and was a true foodie. She gave lung cancer a phenomenal fight for six years until her healing needed to occur in heaven. Michelle got married to Dwayne Parks in 1994. They were happily married for 31 years. Michelle, better known as Glamma, far too fabulous to be just Grandma, took pride in her family. Her husband, children and grandchildren meant the world to her. She truly was the matriarch of her family moving with so much class and grace. Michelle is survived by her spouse, Dwayne Parks; her son, Terry Parks, and daughters LaKayla Bey, LaShawn Lloyd and Warren Lloyd (son-in-law), LaTanya Parks-Bey, LaChelle Parks and Makyah Parks (daughter-in-law); her only sister, Yvette Bey; her grandchildren, Warren Lloyd III, Lathan Frazier, Waylon Lloyd, and Bubba Parks (in heaven). Her nieces, nephews, a host of other relatives, and friends. The family wishes to extend their gratitude to all those who have comforted us during this process. In lieu of flowers the family request memorial donations be made to Hope House Kansas City. Memorial Services will be held on January 31, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Watkins Heritage Chapel 4000 Emanuel Cleaver II Blvd. KCMO 64130. Interment: Private Disposition.
