Mr. Marteze P. Porter I

Marteze Princedarius Porter,I made his grand entrance on December 16, 1959, in Clarksdale, MS. Marteze was born to his parents Allen Fisher and Odessa Porter. Years later he gained his loving bonus father, Tyrone Thomas. He held multiple nicknames: “Mart”, “Marty Mar”, “Mack Ma”, “Teze” to name a few. Marteze now reunites with his parents, wife, Mary J. Porter, daughter Martinique Porter, sisters Roxie Porter, Yolanda Faye Fisher and a host of other family members and friends. Marteze confessed a hope in Christ at an early age at Damacus M.B. Church in Clarksdale, MS under the leadership of Rev. X.L. Williams. At a very young age, Marteze was a member of the school board where he taught peers of his class. Marteze attended Clarksdale Public School and was a graduate of Coahoma Agriculture High School "Aggie" in 1978. Upon graduating he relocated to Kansas City, MO where he met the love of his life and his children's mother, his wife Mary J. Porter. Marteze worked in several different industries throughout his life. His later professions were included in two area hospitals, Research Medical Center and Saint Luke’s Health System (SLHS). He dedicated 17 years of service to SLHS and built great bonds with many of the staff there. His warm embrace was a presence felt throughout the hospital, and his light did ever so shine. Marteze was a naturally funny and warm spirit to be around. His jokes, comedic spirit, authentic humor and light was a joy to endure. He could make a rainy day a beautiful, sunny one with his presence. Marteze was joined in holy matrimony with his dear and loving wife, Mary J. Porter where they shared three children, Jenetha S. Hyter, Martinique Porter, and Marteze P. Porter, II. He was a grandfather to his loves, Trinity L.S. Cook and Ke’Jawn L. Jones. Years later, he gained his son in love, Kimmet Hyter. Marteze loved his children and grandchildren dearly. He was an amazing provider and protector to his tree. Marteze made his heavenly departure, on April 24th, his mother’s birthday where God sent His angel to guide His son home. Marteze leaves his cherished memories, love and spirit unto his family and friends. To his tree, Jenetha S. Hyter (Kimmet), Marteze P. Porter, II, Trinity L.S. Cook, and Ke’Jawn L. Jones. To his loving siblings, eleven brothers Hardy Porter, Reginald Porter, Craig Porter, Trent Thomas, Keith Thomas (Terry), Deon Miller, Tony Miller, Allen Fisher III (Stephanie), Pastor Karl Fisher (Joyce), Gregory Fisher (Desiree), and Marcus Berry. Six sisters, Treva Thomas, Keisha Thomas, Barbara Fisher, Chiquita White (Willie), Jacquelyn Knolls (Ronnie), and Theresa Fisher (Elzy). He also leaves his love to his two loving aunts: Johnnie B. Porter, Annie Jones, and host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Marteze’s warm and light spirit will continue to live on through his loved ones. It is a light that will never dim. Funeral Services Saturday, May 11, 2024, 2:00pm at the Watkins Heritage Chapel. Visitation 1:00pm-2:00pm at the chapel. Interment Brooking Cemetery. Service conducted by Lawrence A.
