Marshall T. Williams

Obituary Marshall T. Williams was born on May 27, 1940 to Theodore and Ercileen Williams. His parents, son Brian Alexander, and nephew William McKenzie preceded him in death. He attended Wendall Phillips, Booker T. Washington, R.T. Coles, and Lincoln High School of Kansas City. After graduating from high school, he attended Tennessee A&I University, and Pittsburg State with a full sports scholarship, which allowed him to earn a Bachelor of Science in Sociology. Marshall joined Palestine Missionary Baptist Church of Jesus Christ (PMBC) under the pastoral care of the late Rev. Earl Abel and worked with the Youth Sports Department and Bus Ministry. Marshall, “Dido“ was employed at American Bakeries and was the first minority salesman. Later he worked for Parkview Drug Store as the first minority in management. He worked in the counseling department at Job Corps and part-time at the Juvenile Justice facility. Marshall Williams was a man with a golden heart, who never met a stranger. He had a spirit like none-other, “Always” giving never expecting anything in return. He was a man that loved his family and always spoke of how proud he was of them. His daughter had him wrapped around her little finger. He never could say “No” to her; so, her mother had to run the family. “THEN” along came Justin the number one grandson. Then the whole picture changed at that point and went from princess Joya, to grandbaby Justin. Marshall and Bernice loved their grandson. They took him to Santa Land, the Pumpkin Patch, Boy Scouts, Soccer practice and to the Palestine MBCJC. Then guess what, now we have a great-grandson, Jahmir. He loved this baby boy. He was beside himself telling everybody about his great grandson. He leaves his legacy of love to his loving wife of 51 years, Mrs. Bernice Williams; a devoted daughter, Joya Williams, his number one grandson Justin Holland, granddaughter, Keshauna Alexander, one great grandson, Jahmir Holland; one great granddaughter, Kamora Butler all of Kansas City, Missouri; three sisters Sandra (James) Cothran of Carlsbad California, Beverly Arnett of Raymore Missouri, Nellita Sirls of Kansas City Missouri; three sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; Sallye (Jeff) Williams of Grand, Blanc Michigan; Jean (Dan) Bolden of Grandview Missouri; Peggy (Reginald) Shields of Kansas City, Kansas; Douglas Ross Opa Locka Florida; Elijah Ross Petersburg Virginia and Daniel Ross of Kansas City, Kansas with a host of nieces, nephews, classmates and friends. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 13, 2018 at Palestine Missionary Baptist Church of Jesus Christ. Visitation 9:00 a.m. Interment Blue Ridge Cemetery.
