Ms. Marlene Kayhill

Obituary Ms. Marlene Louise Kayhill was born on September 26, 1950 in Kansas City, Missouri, to Juanita Kayhill and Herbert Kayhill Sr. She attended Kansas City, Missouri public schools until her family relocated to San Diego, California for a short time , where she attended Lincoln High School. Upon returning to Kansas, Missouri she was then blessed with two daughters Shelisa and Cheryl Turner. On February 17, 1972, she joined a loving union to John A Hampton and through this union she was blessed with her only son, Kevin Hampton- Turner and daughters, Veronica, Joyce , Brenda & Linda Hampton. She pursued her passion for nursing, serving as a Private Duty Nurse providing in home care to disable individuals, for over twenty years until her health no longer allowed her. Ms. Marlene, also in later years known as "Granny" loved the institution of family , always spending time with her children grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed socializing with her dear friends over her lifetime an she had man. She never met a "Stranger", color, size, shape, position or demographic did not matter. She would open her home to anyone in need. She would feed them and give them a place to lay their head. She would share anything she a had. At the same time, she was strong and feisty, speaking her mind always and living life on her Own terms. Ms. Marlene Kayhill departed this life on September 17, 2021. She leaves to cherish her memory: Her only brother, Herbert Kayhill Jr (Donna) of Grandview, Mo; step sister, Patricia Bethea - McKinney of Raytown, Mo, her three children Shelisa, Cheryl and Kevin Tuner of KCMO, her grandchildren: Janika Wall of KCMO , Kevin Jr and Tremond Turner of KCMO., Mikayla& Mikeva Turner of Dallas, Tx, Aiden Turner of Grandview, MO and Kaloni Tuner of Raytown, Mo and a host of other relatives and friends. Her parents; Juanita Kayhill - McKinney and Herbert Kayhill Sr and granddaughters Myeisha & Ebony Turner and great granddaughter Damián White all preceded her in death. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, October 2, 2021, 2:00pm at Lawrence A. Jones & Sons Funeral Chapel. Interment XII Gates Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 1pm-2pm at the chapel.
