Ms. Marilyn D. Bell

Obituary After dealing with several health issues, Marilyn was called from this life on Monday, July 18, 2022, at 5:13 P.M. to sweet rest. She was born on January 17, 1955, in Kansas City, Kansas the fifth child of Howard and Leola Rowe. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death last year, by her brother-in-law, Howard Moore and her brother, Curtis Anthony Rowe Sr. (Tony). Marilyn graduated from Paseo High School, class of 1973. After graduation, she married. Two sons, Michael and Maurice were added to complete their family. Marilyn worked for the Internal Revenue Service for over 30 years until her retirement. She had a passion for singing with her beautiful soprano voice. She also had a talent for cooking, she shared her love language through food with Meals on Wheels. Oddly enough she had a love for sports. If it included a ball, she was interested. To some she may have been an obsessed stalker but in her mind, she was the president of the Lakers and Magic Johnson fan club. She had the opportunity to meet Magic Johnson, and what did he do? He signed her jersey and life was complete. When she found out he had aids, people were calling around asking about how she was doing. Marilyn worked with various committees, Willing Workers, Big Sisters and the Youth Committee. She also served as Assistant Director for New Inspirations Chorus. Marilyn accepted the Gospel at Swope Parkway Church of Christ at a young age. She went on to place her membership with Greater Metropolitan Church of Christ in 2015. She leaves to mourn her departure, Six Sisters, Delores A. Moore, Joanne Pope (George), Vicki A. Bradford, Kathy L. Stokes, Arlene Y. Revels and Andrea M. Powell. Three Brothers, Larry E. Rowe Sr. (Toni), Jerry R. Rowe Sr. (Breda), Steven H. Rowe Sr. (Natalie). All of Missouri. Two Sons, Michael A. Bell Sr. and Maurice D. Bell. Two Granddaughters, Honor Bell and Marley Bell. Three Grandsons, Marquan Bell, Marzell Bell and Kingston Bell. And a host of relatives and friends. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, July 30, 2022, 12:00noon at Greater Metropolitan Church of Christ. Service conducted by Lawrence A. Jones & Sons Funeral Chapel.
