Mrs. Marie Huskey

Obituary Mother Marie Huskey was born on March 8,1926, in Dermott, Arkansas, to Henry and Callie Calhoun. She was the seventh of twenty children raised by this union. Marie confessed Christ at an early age and lived a life worthy and committed to the Lord. She was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church for over 40 years and was very active in her church, serving in many areas including Vacation Bible School, the Ruth Circle, Sisterhood, and visiting nursing homes. On December 26, 1942, Marie was united in Holy matrimony to the love of her life, Gene Huskey. To this union, five children were born, Gene Jr., Arnold, Florence, Keith and Mildred. Marie and Gene were married over 55 years and she was an active part of each of her children’s lives and their families. She was also a caregiver to her own mother, Callie Calhoun, for many years of her life. Marie was a wonderful mother and she shared her time and love to all who came in her home. She was humble, but heavily impacted so many lives. She taught her children and grandchildren to walk with the Lord and work for Him. She taught them to pray for everything and instilled strength by the life she lived. Marie was not only devoted to God, but she read her Bible daily and was awarded each year for completely reading the Bible cover to cover. She leaves to honor and cherish her memories her sons: Gene Huskey, Jr. (Lula) and Arnold Huskey; her daughters: Florence Huskey and Mildred Washington (Henry); 16 Grandchildren:Tonia Bomar (Richard), Arnold Huskey, Jr., Roy Livingston, April Huskey, Tiffany Brown,Rabihah Mitchell, Mahasin Pledger, Joshua Calvin, Marquel Jacoway (Sami), Malikah Huskey,Jenna Huskeyand Nafessa Huskey; 37 Great Grandchildren; 12 Great-Great Grandchildren; her brothers: Jimmie, Henry Jr. (Debra), and Charles (Gay); two sisters: Minnie Cobbins and Doris Wagner (Carl); and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Marie is proceeded in death by her Loving Husband of 55 years, Gene Huskey; father, HenryCalhoun; mother, Callie Calhoun; son: Keith (Sayyid); grandson: Tyrone Huskey, three granddaughters: Crystal Matthews, Lenise Johnson, and Gail Gay; four brothers and ten sisters. Marie departed this life on Friday, September 16, 2022, at home, surrounded by her love ones. Funeral Service vice will be held Saturday, September 24, 2022, 11:00am at Fellowship Baptist Church.
