Mr. Lyle C. Davis III

Obituary Lyle Charles Davis III, 60, entered eternal life on July 20, 2021, at home in Blue Springs, MO. He was preceeded in death by his son Shaun DiAngelo Norton, grandmothers, grandfathers and many relatives that we love to welcome him home. Lyle was born March 25, 1961 to Lyle Charles Davis Jr and Verndell Davis in Kansas City, Kansas. He was the first born of four children with Cheryl, Sonya and Dawn to this union. His father later married Gwendolyn Boyd Davis and had two sons Derald and Dante’. Lyle spent his early years being educated in the Kansas City, Missouri Public School System. He attended Francis Willard, JC Nichols, Bleinheim, and McCoy Elementary Schools, Leeds and Dunbar and Southeast Middle Schools. He then attended John F. Kennedy High in Mound Bayou, MS and finished his education at Central High School in Kansas City Missouri where he graduated in 1979. He attended college. Lyle Charles (L.C.) worked for the federal government for several years before moving into the healthcare field, where he received many accolades. He drove a school bus for eleven years and then transitioned to retail when he moved to California. This helped him learn carpentry and construction skills to start his own business. He owned and operated an auto sales, painting and home maintenance business for the last ten years until his sudden and untimely passing. While in high school, Lyle met his children’s mother and they welcomed into their loving home the birth of three wonderful sons; twins Antonio and Antoine, and Shaun. Lyle was a Christian with a strong love for God and His people. He was introduced to Christ by his parents at an early age. He confessed his love and acceptance of Christ at twelve and was baptized at Paseo Baptist Church under Charles J. Brisco along with his three sisters. Lyle was devoted to his family and friends and assisted them any way he could. He was beloved and appreciated. He was the life of the party. He talked, joked, played cards or dominoes and generally kept the party going. If you knew Lyle then you KNEW he LOVED, his family and many friends. He was a father to many. He was a devoted son who called his many every morning. Lyle not only loved his family, but he loved the countless people he encountered. He loved sports particularly the Chiefs and the Royals. If you met him at work, a gathering or through cousins, were one of his children’s friends, or a former coworker, neighbors, then you know he just loved people. He was a man of many friends that made people feel better and made their day. He was always in fashion. He was a man of integrity and honesty. His generosity knew no bounds as he would give you his last dollar. He never judged and accepted all with loving and open arms. He will be missed by many who loved him and all whose lives he touched. Lyle will be lovingly remembered by his mother Verndell Davis Sutton, father Lyle Davis Jr. two children; Antonio Jermaine Norton (Alexis) and Antoine Dewayne Norton (Tia), numerous bonus children, three sisters; Cheryl Crockett of Blue Springs, Mo, Sonya Burris (John Jr.) of Lee’s Summit, Mo, Dawn Tweedie (Daniel) of Odessa, two brothers; Derald Davis (LaQuisha) and Dante’ Davis and special brother-in-law, Lantz Nave I; grandchildren; Antonio Jermaine Norton, Jordon Thompson, ChyTiara, Tyree Nix, Toni Simon’e Norton, Alexander Alan Norton, Jamilah Norton, Tory Jermaine Norton, Antoine Norton Jr., Tavion Hill, Taniya Norton, Taylor Norton and Twan Norton. Six nephews Harmon Crockett Jr., Lantz Nave II, Lydell Nave, Tre’ Shepherd, Dante’ Davis and Dalyn Binns. Three nieces: Lyric, Symphony and Chorus. Many aunts, uncles a host of cousins, friends and a best friend E.J. McCallop. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, July 31, 2021, 11:00am Christian Tabernacle COGIC.
