Obituary Loretta Jo Woods born to Jimmy J Sr & Laura A Woods on March 17, 1965 in Kansas City, Missouri. Loretta accepted the Lord as her personal Savior and was baptized under the Pastoral Leadership of her father at an early age, she Loved to Sing Praises to God and continued in Christ Jesus unto to death. Loretta served at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church of Jesus Christ as a Sunday School Teacher, Sunday School General Secretary, Church Finance Committee, Sunday School Superintendent, President of Junior Mission, and Choir Member. Loretta also served in the Union District Association and the General Baptist Convention of Missouri, Kansas & Nebraska Loretta Graduated from East High School, Kansas City Missouri, Received he Bachelor of Science Degree from Southwest Baptist University, Bolivar Missouri and her Master’s Degree from UMKC, Kansas City, Missouri. Loretta was an Educator for the Hickman Mills School District for 20 years. Loretta was a Behavior Management Consultant; providing training for Teachers and assisted parents in gaining control of their children at home with strategies that prepared children to be successful in the school environment. Loretta was a Motivational Speaker with an emphasis on Bullying. Loretta was also known for her” Wednesday Words of Wisdom” on Facebook and had a website entitled “Ask Ms. Woods”. Helping people have a better outlook on life by way of Behavior and Attitude was Loretta’s Life Passion. Loretta was Co-Owner and Chairperson of Big 6 Elite which is Ranked Top 10 in the Country. Loretta was a founding member of “Sisters Steppin N Vettes” Loretta was an avid collector of Unique Purses, Shoes and Sunglasses. Loretta had a special photographer: Nyna Harris, her oldest niece; that was always available to capture her “Essence & Beauty”, always remembering to get a good shot of the shoes and purse coordination! Loretta was preceded in death by her niece Ed’Queshia D. Harris(#1), her Father; Rev. J. J. Woods, Sr., her Mother; Laura A. Woods, and her baby boy; Braxton J. Woods(#14). Loretta leaves to cherish her in memory her elder son Jacobe L. Woods, Sr. her three grandchildren; Jaylen, Jayden & Jacobe Jr., four siblings; Sandra A Woods-Harris, Rev. Jimmy J. Woods, Jr (Jeanette), (Irish Twin)Gloria L. Woods-Counter (Michael) and Kathy A. Woods. A host of Nieces and Nephews, and Great Nieces and Nephews. The Man she Loved; Danny Vega, God-Sister: Joyce McNeal, Special Senior Saints; Sis. Joyce Hall, Sis. Claudia Collins and Dea. Earlie Harper, Sr. Her “HH” Sisters In Education, Her Vette Sisters, and a Great Host of Family; Woods, Fulbright, Hearn & Gordon, and Many Many Friends. Funeral Services will be be held on Thursday, December 10th at 2pm at Lawrence A. Jones & Sons Linwood Chapel 1800 E. Linwood Blvd. KCMO 64109. Visitation 12pm.
