Ms. Lola I. Hall

Lola Irene (Lee) Hall was born to the union of Arnett Lee and Idella Cottoms White on January 13, 1934, who both preceded her in death. Her husband Eddie L Hall, two sons Michael Hall, Brian Hall, and one grandson Mitchell Wright Jr. also preceded her in death. Lola I Hall departed this life on Monday, March 3, 2025. Lola was the oldest of four girls, Rozetta Shields (deceased), Naomi Cottoms (deceased) and Joyce Cottoms. Lola graduated from Eliza Miller High School in Helena, AR. During her early childhood years, Lola spent her summers with her maternal grandparents Eziekiel and Rosie (which she referred to as Mom-mie) Whittington, in Oneida AR. She confessed to Christ at an early age, and was a member of the St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church in Helena, AR. In 1969, along with her husband and five children, she moved to Kansas City, MO. For many years, Lola was a devoted wife and caring mother. She took care of her youngest son Brian who was sick and disabled, until his death. During this time, she never neglected her other four children and husband. She later worked as bookkeeper and supervisor of employees for the family’s carpet cleaning and janitorial business. In 1970, Lola united with the Mount Vernon Missionary Baptist Church under the pastoral care of the late Rev. Emanuel A Johnson. For many years, she worked with the missionary society (SWMU) serving as president from 1972 to 1985. She visited the sick and shut-in and enjoyed cooking and serving food at the local shelter. She also worked diligently on other church committees. For example: Pastor and Wife’s Anniversary, church directory, cookbook committee and the state rally. Lola leaves to cherish her memory: one sister, Joyce Cottoms of Collierville, TN; four sisters-in-law: Mary Belle Mance of Pine Bluff, AR, Nellie Woodridge of Helena, AR, Nancy Jones of Grandview, MO and Naomi (Jesse) Sands of Raytown, MO; three children: Halbert (Shirley) Hall of Fort Wayne, Indiana; Laceta (Mitchell) Wright of Kansas City, MO; and Eddie Darnell (Donna) Hall of Lenexa, KS; daughter in law, Annie Hall of Dallas, TX; ten grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, along with a host of nephews, nieces and cousins. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Mount Vernon Missionary Baptist Church 3935 Prospect Ave. KCMO 64130. Interment Floral Hills Cemetery. Visitation 10-11:00 a.m. at the church. Arrangements entrusted to Lawrence A. Jones & Sons. Condolences may be shared on our website.
