In Loving Memory of Linda (Lynda) Williams, October 27, 1947-June 18, 2025 Lynda Williams, beloved mother, sister, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, friend, tireless worker, and radiant soul, passed away at the age of 77 leaving behind a wealth of knowledge and wisdom. A lifelong Kansas City native, Lynda's presence was a steady light in the lives of all who knew her. Born on October 27, 1947, Kansas City, Missouri, was a proud Kansas Citian and loved Jesus Christ. Lynda received her education from the Kansas City Public Schools, attending Wendell Phillips and Phyllis Wheatley Elementary; Lincoln Middle; and Lincoln Senior High School’s Class of 1965 graduate where she was an active member in their pep club and proud Lincoln Tiger. Lynda embodied a spirit of pride and perseverance that guided her every step. After graduating high school, she worked for Southwestern Bell, now known as AT&T for one year as a telephone operator. Soon after she left Southwestern Bell, she became employed with the Social Security Administration (SSA), where she dedicated an incredible 45 years to SSA, serving with diligence, compassion, and unwavering integrity. Near retirement, she gave back to her community by spending six meaningful years enriching young lives through the Local Investment Commission (LINC) after-school program working for various schools in the Kansas City Public Schools, such as Crispus Attucks, C.A. Franklin and J.T. Hartman. A devoted member of St. Stephens Baptist Church, Lynda’s faith anchored her, and her church family cherished her warm smile, generous heart, and constant encouragement. She was an active member in her youth attending Sunday School and Baptist training Union. She was a true matriarch, raising nine children with fierce love, boundless strength, and her signature no-nonsense wisdom. Lynda found joy in life’s simple pleasures—cooking up a soulful meal, dining with those she loved, sewing pieces stitched with care, shopping and exploring new places on family vacations and with friends. Her life was a tapestry of service, love, and joyful resilience. Though her hands are now at rest, the legacy she leaves is vibrant and enduring. Lynda was more than a mother, a worker, or a neighbor—she was a cornerstone in her community and a treasure to all who were blessed to know her. Lynda was preceded in death by her parents, Jonathan and Bessie Poole; brothers Donald and Michael Poole, son Willie Williams, and daughter Nicole Williams. She leaves behind to cherish and honor her memory, her seven children, sons, Donnell Williams of Kansas City, MO, Andre Williams of Kansas City, MO, and Bryan J. Williams of Houston, Texas; four daughters, Le Shanda (Shelly) Williams of Fredericksburg, Virginia, Danielle Williams of Kansas City, MO, Jailyn Bradley Williams (Maurice) of Kansas City, MO, and Joneisha (Jo) Williams of Kansas City, MO; step-mother, Artis Poole of Kansas City, MO; sister, Jo Ann Daniels of Kansas City, Kansas, two beloved friends, Eleanor Hill and Carolyn Ortega; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, grandchildren and great grandchildren and friends who will all cherish her sweet memories. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2025, 10am Macedonia Baptist Church. Interment Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation from 9am-10am at the church. Services conducted by Lawrence A.
