Mrs. Levora White

Levora White, 93, peacefully entered eternal rest on April 1, 2025, at Delmar Gardens in Lenexa, Kansas, surrounded by her loving family. A cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, Levora leaves behind a rich legacy of love, faith, and service. Born on November 16, 1931, in Okmulgee, Oklahoma, Levora was the treasured daughter of Leaven and Loda Pearl (Foote) Thomas. After the passing of her parents, she was lovingly raised by her Uncle Charles and Aunt Lillian Foote in Kansas City, Missouri. She graduated from Lincoln High School and pursued further education at Pasadena Community College in California, showcasing her commitment to lifelong learning. In 1960, Levora married the late Cleotha L. White, with whom she shared a life full of love and devotion. She dedicated 24 years to Hallmark Cards Inc. as a Sales Statistician, retiring in 1994. Post-retirement, she devoted over a decade to volunteering at Children’s Mercy Hospital, embodying her spirit of service. Levora was a devoted woman of faith and a faithful member of St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as a Deaconess and on the Mother’s Board. Her love for the Lord was evident in her generous spirit and unwavering commitment to her church community. Previously, she served at True Vine Missionary Baptist Church for over 30 years fulfilling roles as an usher, church secretary and treasurer. She briefly attended Canaan Missionary Baptist Church, continuing her journey of faith and service. Family gatherings brought Levora immense joy, as did simple pleasures like watching "Wheel of Fortune" in the evenings. Her warmth and kindness left a lasting impact on all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Cleotha; her parents; her son, Ronald Thomas; her brother, Wilbert Thomas; and her sisters, Ruthetta Thomas; and Ella Maxine Combs (Nathaniel). Levora is lovingly remembered by her children: Leaven Thomas (Jackie); Donnie Thomas; Timothy White; and Margarete Campbell; her brother, Rudolph Thomas (LeeAnna “Nikki”); and her special daughter, Jeri Thomas; she is also survived by her grandchildren: Sandra Brumfield; Leaven Thomas Jr. (Serene); Rashad Khalifah; Bianca Hayes (Benjamin); Ronald Thomas; Aaliyah Thomas; and Sylvester Jackson; her great-grandchildren, Mya Harris; Marcus Brumfield; Marvin Brumfield; Charlie Khalifah; Rilee Hayes; Troi Thomas; and Tyson Jackson; as well as numerous nieces; nephews; cousins; and countless friends; whose lives were enriched by her warmth and generosity. Levora White’s life was a beautiful testament to love, faith, and community. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
