Mr. Lee Anthony McKeithen

Lee Anthony McKeithen, 63, passed away on October 8, 2024. He was born on March 24, 1961, to Leviticus McKeithen and Sandra Newsom in Kansas City, Missouri. His father Leviticus McKeithen and brothers, Dewayne Newsom and Kevin McKeithen preceded him in death. He attended Crispus Attucks Elementary School and graduated from Lincoln High School. Lincoln is where he memorized the periodic table for fun. Lee was an honors student, Junior Achievement Participant and Junior Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC) member. Following high school, he joined the United States Airforce, where he served for 4 years as a Senior Airman. This allowed him to be stationed in the Philippines where he was able to experience different cultures, foods and people. Lee has three daughters, Brittney Arterbery, Leigha McKeithen and Leesia McKeithen. Lee was married to Anita McKeithen, who preceded him in death. Lee previously worked for Gateway, Bank of America, and the American District Telegraph (ADT) following his time of service. Later on, he transitioned into entrepreneurship where he started his own tax business called, “First Tax” serving the greater Kansas City, Missouri area. Lee was active in Blue Valley Lodge #64 F. & A. M. and Primerica. In his spare time, he thoroughly enjoyed the practice of martial arts. He even spent some time working as a professional male model. He would always be open to try and experience new things, especially food. His favorite restaurant was easily a Kansas City staple, Niecie’s Restaurant where he frequently visited/gathered with family and friends. Lee was always known to lighten up any room he entered, and always kept everyone smiling with his humor and lighthearted spirit. Lee was surely a seeker of life and was never shy to learn and explore all the wonders of the world. He always wanted to live his best life and live it abundantly. Lee will be missed by anyone who encountered him. Lee leaves behind to cherish his memory: his mother, Sandra Newsom; his daughters, Brittney Arterbery, Leigha McKeithen and Leesia McKeithen; his brothers, Reginald McKeithen, Melvin Newsom, Michael Newsom, Marvin Newsom Jr., and Ronald Newsom along with several relatives and friends. May Lee’s soul Rest In Peace and Fly High gracefully! Funeral services Saturday, October 26, at 11:00am at Lawrence A. Jones & Sons Funeral Chapel. Interment Leavenworth National Cemetery.
