Mr. Kenneth L. Gordon Obituary - Visitation & Funeral Information

Kenneth Lowell Gordon Jr. was born on October 6, 1970, in Kanas City, Missouri. In 1975, Kenneth and his family moved to Kansas, so Ken would have the opportunity to go to a school that allowed children with special needs to go to school with other children in the neighborhood in a mainstreamed environment. After graduation from Shawnee Mission High School, Kenneth went to work at Johnson County Developmental Supports. He loved working there and would sit on the steps each morning with his lunchbox in hand, anxiously awaiting his ride to pick him up. He worked there a total of 29 years, but his time was cut short due to the Covid epidemic, when they temporarily shut down. Kenneth was a homebody, so the majority of his free time was spent listening to music on his favorite radio station (993.3 F.M.) or watching television. Kenneth had quite a large collection of movies, but he still insisted on watching “Spiderman 3” several times a week, and sometimes several times a day, always with his favorite snacks; Peanut M&M’s; Oreo Cookies; or Doritos! Unfortunately, Kenneth contacted pneumonia in April 2023, and due to complications, succumbed to his illness in December 2023. Kenneth is survived by his parents, JoAnn and Walter Kearney; step-brother, Craigory Kearney; and a host of loving relatives. Funeral services held Friday, December 22, 2023 at1:00pm at Lawrence A. Jones & Sons Funeral Chapel. Interment Mt. Moriah Cemetery. Service conducted by Lawrence A. Jones & Sons Funeral Chapel. Condolences may be shared on our website.
