Obituary On November 6, 1962, God stretched out His hand and brought forth the life of Katrinia Marie Draper from the union of her parents; Raymond Draper Sr and Chrystell Draper in Kansas City, Kansas. At an early age Katrinia became a member of the Progressive Church of God in Christ, where she served as a faithful member for 49 years. Katrinia was educated in the Kansas City Public Schools, where she graduated from Van Horn High School as a qualifying track runner. She continued her education at Penn Valley College. On October 4, 1985, Katrinia Marie married Wesley Braxton Johnson. To that union was born Carlos Rey Johnson on September 22, 1987, Ryan Lamont Johnson on December 10, 1989 and De’Anthony Leray Johnson on March 9, 1993. Her three boys were her pride and joy and the apple of her eye. She taught them the significance of knowing God, being strong, respectful and how valuable it was to save. Katrinia was an adamant money saver and about her Holy Father’s business. Katrinia was a hard worker. She was employed by the Adams Mark Hotel; where she was the first African American employee in their gift shop, as well as at McDonalds, Woolf Brothers, the Law Offices of James Scott, American Family, Country Wide Home Loans, then Martin Luther King Village where she served for 17 years as Administrative Assistant until October 2021. Katrinia was blessed to become a grandmother to her two Princesses: Aniyah LaRae and Marley Johnson. Her granddaughters were the beat to her heart. On Sundays, grandma Trinia would make sure that they were dressed in their finest to fellowship as she would testify, at her “great church Progressive”. She made sure to teach them that they were royalty, and they should be treated as such. Her granddaughters admired her dearly. Katrinia was a woman of God and through her life she embodied what it meant to walk by faith and not by sight. On Wednesday, December22, 2021, God stretch forth his hand and called home Katrinia Marie Draper Johnson to her eternal home. She was preceded in death by her father Raymond Draper Sr and her sister Charlotte Draper Adams. As well as her maternal and paternal grandparents. She leaves to cherish her three sons; Carlos Johnson, Ryan Johnson, and De’Anthony Johnson; her two granddaughters Princess Aniyah Johnson and Princess Marley Johnson; her mother Chrystell Draper; her siblings Raymond Draper Jr, Doris Dunn (Billy), Darlene Eure, Corliss Denise Holliday, Jacqueline Williamham, Randy Draper (Monique), Rodney Draper, Anthony Draper; nieces and nephews, her special best friend Douglas Moore, as well as a host of other family members and friends. Funeral Services will be held Friday, January 7, 2022, 11:00am at the Progressive Church of God In Christ. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:30-11:00am at the church.
