Katherine Louise Grayson

Obituary Katherine Louise Grayson, beloved wife, sister and aunt was born in Kansas City, Missouri on May 5, 1949 to Richard Revels Sr. and Barbara Jean (Williams) Davis. She married Nathan Grayson May 25, 1973. Katherine attended Paseo High School where her desire for business began. Kathrine worked at Business Men’s Assurance Company of America (BMA) as a key-punch operator for several years and then moved on to the IRS and AT&T before retiring. Kathrine was known to enjoy sharing her political thoughts and opinions, cruising the Caribbean, spending time with family, and working on houses with her husband. She could often be found in conversation about her latest cruise to the Bahamas or at family functions hearing stories about how Aunt Katherine enjoyed spending time with her nieces and nephews during the summers where she would often teach them the value of having a good work ethic. Kathrine was the scholar of the family and known as the backup godmother. She was the one everyone counted on and treated her nieces and nephews as her children. She looked out for you and took care of everyone before herself. She was the type of person to give her car to her nieces and nephews so they could get around and was there to support you whenever you needed it. Katherine is preceded by her father Richard Revels Sr., mother Barbara Jean Davis, sister Glenda Revels, brother Fredrick Revels, brother Dennis Revels, sister Karen Francis, sister Mayella James and niece Lakendra Revels and nephew James Francis. Katherine is survived by her husband Nathan Grayson, stepsons Brian Grayson, Patrick Hardiman, her siblings Richard Revels, Jeanette Reliford, Angela Clemons, and her nieces & nephews Ben James, Barry James and Harold Chancelor, Sonja Revels, LaDonna Davis, Arnold Reliford Jr., John Reliford, Janea Reliford, Tushalina Moorman, TaKisha Swan, John Butler, Felita Revels, Lynette Revels, Lakedra Revels, her cousin Ralph Williams, as well as a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, colleagues and friends. Katherine will be missed. Funeral Services will be held at 12pm on Friday, December 11th at Lawrence A. Jones & Sons Linwood Chapel 1800 E. Linwood Blvd. KCMO 64109. Visitation 10am.
