Obituary Katherine Lilly Ford, 83, was born July 2, 1939 to William Hence Flowers & Fannie Mae Flowers in Hayti, MO. She was the fourth of 17 children. Her parents proceeded her in death along with her husband, Kenneth R. Ford & eight siblings; Clayvon, Benny, Calvin "Snoddie", Melvin "Tig", Alvin "Buddy", Johnny "JR", Joyce "Beanie", & Constance "Lamb".Katherine graduated from Hayti Central High School in 1957. She gave her life to Christ & was baptized at an early age. She settled into Kansas City, MO. in 1959. In the same year, she courted & married Kenneth R. Ford to this union they had three children.She became a valued & active member of The Good Samaritan Baptist Church for more than three decades.Kathy worked for AVON & majority of her career as an "Electronic Assembler" for Bendix Co. retiring in 2002 from Honeywell (formally known as Allied Signal "Bendix Co.") dedicating 35 years to the evolution of energy efficiency.2002, she relocated to her birth home Hayti, MO. where she continued her passion to serve others & as an Usher for The Anointed New Mt. Olive Baptist Church.Some of her favorite hobbies were shopping, power walking, watching westerns/action Flicks, & baking new recipes for her loved ones.She was a vessel of love, patience, compassion & wisdom.She was affectionately known by her family & friends asKathy, Aunt Kat, Nana, & her nickname Baby Sis.Katherine was a loyal & devoted wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, & friend to many. She leaves to mourn her children William "Snookie" of Hayti, MO., Myron (Toni), & one daughter Teresa, both of Kansas City, MO. Grandchildren, Raymond (LaShonda) of Lees Summit, MO., Veronica, Kenneth & Kiera(TaRon) of Kansas City, MO.; Great-grandchildren, Jordan , Houston, Raymond Jr., Ramon, Kemora, Aubri'Lee & Kabrynn.She also leaves five sisters; Gloria of Redland, CA, Sharon “Bickle” of lees Summit, MO., Linda "Judy" of New Albany, MS., Gail & Wanda both of Hayti, MO.; Three Brothers', Al "Doc" of Milwaukee, WS., Garvin of Las Vegas, NV., & Donald of Hayti, MO. along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, & friends. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, October 1, 2022, 11:00am at the Watkins Heritage Chapel. Interment Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10am-11am at the chapel.
