Ms. Joyce M. Johnson

Obituary Joyce Marie Johnson was born on August 1, 1932, in Wagner, South Carolina (Aiken County) to Elmore Williams, Sr. and Lillie E. (Tyler) Williams. She was the oldest of seven children born to this union. Both parents, grandparents, husband, Curtis Johnson, brothers, Earl Williams, Elmo Williams, Jr. and Pernell Williams all preceded her in death. Joyce accepted Christ at an early age at Zion Hill Baptist Church in Salley, South Carolina. She has fellowshipped with several churches in her life and has many accomplishments throughout her long and blessed life of ninety plus years. She was a virtuous woman, who loved traveling, shopping, dancing and taking pictures. Joyce worked for McGregor Printing Company in Kansas City for more than 30 years. She was a member of the Eastern Star OES for over thirty years, she did volunteer work for several local charities. She was known for her hard work and dedication in whatever task she chose to do. She lived her life on her own terms. She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, aunt and friend to many who she loved and cherished. She will be truly missed by all that knew and loved her. Joyce departed this life on Sunday, April 2, 2023, at K. C. Hospice House. Joyce leaves to cherish her memories a family legacy of multiple generations to include, sons, Ronald Williams (Staretha), Williams, SC, Edwin Williams, Kansas City, MO, David Williams, FL; daughters, Janice Hill, FL, Cynthia Alexander (Homer Tucker), FL and Carol Ann Williams; sisters, Vernell Williams, Hutchinson, NY and Verta Williams, Gardner, NY; grandchildren, Marcie Gray, Gwanzy Alexander, Mario and Marco Williams, Lateia Tucker, Javoria Bolds, Danielle Livingston, Shirlene Livingston, Tonyetta Bailey, Erica Daniels, Quanisha Carson, Issac Williams, Devin Williams, Davisha Willams, Taylen and Tallam Williams, Latoya Walton, Edwin Williams, Jr., Eria Williams and Jessica Williams, a host great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, family friends and other relatives. Funeral services Saturday, April 8, 2023, 1:00pm at Fellowship Baptist Church. Interment XII Gates Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Visitation 11:00am-1:00pm at the church.
