Obituary Joslyn Marie Ivory was born on May 28, 1954 in Kansas City, Kansas to Dale M. Green and Dorothy J. Green. Joslyn was preceded in death by her? paternal and maternal grandparents?, husband Wallis Ivory Jr., and mother, Dorothy J. Green. Joslyn accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized by Reverend David L. Gray of Pleasant Green Baptist Church of Kansas City, Kansas. Joslyn grew up in Kansas City, Missouri with her two brothers and three sisters. She graduated from South East High School in Kansas City, Missouri in 1972. After high school, Joslyn attended Penn Valley Community College with aspirations to become a Courthouse Stenographer. While attending college, she also found employment with the Social Security Department. From there, she then transferred to the U.S. Postal Service where she retired after 25 years. Throughout Joslyn’s career, she proudly served in multiple positions which increased her responsibilities. In addition to her career, she was blessed with three children and married the love of her life, Wallis Ivory, Jr. They were happily married for 17 years. Joslyn enjoyed going to the movies, spending time with her grandchildren, and reading the Bible. Although known for her taste in high-end fashion and being an avid moviegoer, she loved being around family and singing in the choir. After retiring from the post office, she moved to Grovetown, Georgia to be near her children. The Lord called Joslyn home at the early age of 64 on September 10th, 2018 at the University of Kansas Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas. Joslyn Ivory is survived by her loving children: Tennille (Hassan) Muhammad, Eddie (Ashley) Watts, III, and J’mil (Tiffany) Watts; parent, Dale M. Green, Sr.; siblings: Dale M. Green, Jr. (Saundra), Regina Bailey, Debra Davis, Bernice Wright (Larry), and Darryl Green; grandchildren: Nasir Muhammad, Aliyah Muhammad, Sariya Whitfield, Nyla Muhammad, J’mil Watts, Jr., Jade Watts; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral Service for Joslyn Marie Ivory will be held Monday, September 17, 10:00 a.m. at the Lawrence A. Jones and Sons Funeral Chapel, 1800 E. Linwood Blvd. Visitation is from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at the Chapel. Interment, 12:30 p.m. Leavenworth National Cemetery.
