Mrs. Josephine Taylor

Obituary Josephine Walker Taylor was born on April 25, 1935. She was the second of five children born to the union of Dannie and Earlean McGraw Walker in Magnolia, Arkansas. In 1944 she moved with her family to Little Rock, Arkansas. Her father Dannie, mother Earlean, brother Willie Roy, sister Martha Ann and her step father Frank Harrell preceded her in death. Josephine attended Gibbs Elementary School in Little Rock, Arkansas. The family moved to Kansas City, MO in 1947 where she attended Attucks Elementary School and R.T Coles High School. Josephine accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at an early age. She was baptized by Rev. J. Frazier of True Light Missionary Baptist Church where she served several years. She later united with The Community Progressive Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday School. After many years of service there she united with Palestine Missionary Baptist Church of Jesus Christ where she remained until her home going. Josephine was married to Sevester Allen, the marriage ended in divorce. Several years later she was united in marriage to Rev. Joseph Taylor. Josephine was a dedicated worker and always had a job even as a teenager. Her first official employment was at the Columbia Toy Factor as a machine operator for 12 years. She was later employed at Alpha Plastics as a supervisor where she worked until she retired. Josephine was the mother of two children, a son, Edward Allen and one daughter, Denise Harrell. Josephine enjoyed interacting with family and friends. She was a dedicated supporter of “The Amanda Watson Family Club”. For the last few years Josephine, because of health reasons she lived with her son Edward and his family in Lebanon, MO. She leaves to cherish and honor her memory, her son, Edward (Andrea) Allen, her daughter, Denise (Maria) Harrell, three grandsons, Derek Allen, Lawrence Cameron, De’Christen R. Harrell and one grand daughter Chantalle Allen. Also, one brother, Raymond Walker, two sisters, Catherine Collins, Cathy Jo Harrell and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, August 28, 2021, 10:00am at Morning Star Baptist Church. Interment Brooking Cemetery. Visitation will be held Friday, Aug. 27th, from 5pm-7pm at the chapel.
