Obituary John L. Jennings, Jr. was born in Kansas City, Missouri on August 16, 1956, to the union of John L. Jennings, Sr. and Anna Jennings. John departed this life on January 30, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, John L., Sr. and Anna Jennings, maternal grandparents, Maurice Minter and Mattie Knox, paternal grandparents, Harold Jennings and Iola DeMar, a brother, Chester Johnston, father-in-law, Robert M. Collins, brother-in-law, Terry Collins, and a daughter-in-law, Ebony Jennings. He attended St. Vincent De Paul Elementary and Bishop Lillis High School, graduating in 1974. He was employed at St. Vincent De Paul Daycare and Hallmark Cards. John accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church, where he was an Alter Boy. John entered Holy Matrimony with Renee Collins on July 12, 1980 and to this union two children were born, Janel Jennings and John Jennings, III; John L. Jennings, Jr. leaves to cherish his memories, his wife, Renee Jennings of thirty-seven years; a daughter, Janel Jennings; a son, John Leslie Jennings, III; two brothers, Kenneth Minter (Janet) and Reverend Gregory Nichols (Armenda) all of Kansas City, Missouri; two sisters, Mary Jennings of Kansas City, Missouri and Winonia Currie (Walter) of Broseley, Missouri; five aunts: Ruby Bradley, Mary Louise Brown (Alvin), Mattie Flanagan, Rena Minter, and Audrey Freeman; mother-in-law, Ollie Collins; four brothers-in-law: Kenny, Nikki, Derrick, and Randy; one sister-in-law, Carmen Blue (Tracy) all of Kansas City, Missouri; three grandsons: Leon, CJ, and Jaydan; six granddaughters: Jiya, Ry’Li, Reign, Faith, Grace, and Kenley all of Kansas City, Missouri; special brother, Ken Lovelece (Ella); special son, Zachary Jackson (Crystal); a host of special children; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Funeral Service for John L. Jennings, Jr. will be held Saturday, February 10, 11:00 a.m. at Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church, 4545 Benton Blvd. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Church.
