Obituary Jennifer Lorraine Kerr, was born in Kansas City MO to Omer Gene Coleman Sr. and Sarah Lee Coleman on May 11, 1955. She was the 4th born of 6 sibling. To the family she was known as Laurie. Jennifer was a graduate of Southeast School in Kansas City MO. After graduating she studied at William Penn College in Oskaloosa IA. Continuing her education she attended Penn Valley Community College in Kansas City MO and received her RN Associates degree in nursing. Upon completing nursing school, Jennifer was employed in the Orthopedic Surgical Department at Lakeside Hospital in Kansas City MO. As surgery was her passion she later joined the heart surgical team at Trinity Hospital and Research Medical Center Hospital in Kansas City MO. At an early age she attended Friendship Baptist Church. She always loved studying the bible. Jennifer was a Christian and knew the Lord. While a member at New Home COGIC and Light of Life Christian Church she served as church secretary and bulletin clerk in which she put a lot of joy, time and thought in her positions Jennifer’s children and grandchildren were the love of her life. She called her niece DuShai her Niece/daughter and said to her children she is their cousin/sister. She always had a way with names. Jennifer’s favorite pass time was shopping; she loved to travel, showed interest in learning Financial Literacy and working cross word puzzles. It was like her to always have a cross word puzzles book close by. She was our family expert when it came to making real mash potatoes for our dinners. No one could touch that. Jennifer was mostly a serious thinking person and researched a lot of things which made her knowledgeable. She overcame a very big obstacle recovering from a serious auto accident, but she managed to work through it. If anyone was telling a story she could always find lyrics to a song to fit the story. Growing up she took an unusual long time to finish her chores on the weekends because she was so busy singing and dancing with the broom. She loved her Pepsi colas with ice from Quick Trip. On December 17, 2020 Jennifer Lorraine Kerr left this world behind when she answered the Master’s call to rest at the age of 65. Jennifer was preceded in death by her father Omer Gene Coleman Sr.; mother, Sarah Lee Coleman, and brother, Omer Gene Coleman Jr. She leaves behind to cherish her memory; her son Delbert Kerr Jr. (Joy), daughter Brandi Terrell (Jamel), siblings, Mary Adofo, Johnston IA, Patricia Johnson, San Diego CA, Alonzo Coleman Sr., Moberly MO and Tamara Coleman, Kansas City MO; grandchildren, Isaac Kerr, Victory Kerr, Destinee Kerr, Kyndall Terrell, Jamel Terrell Jr., and Celeste Terrell; aunts, Freda Ford and Edith Webb Verner both of Wilmington, NC; nieces and nephews, DuShai Thomas, Bridget Lyons, Kelly Lyons, Tracie Coleman, Alonzo Coleman Jr., Alezandrea Young, Chandler Coleman; special friends, Carmen Banks, Shirley Freeman, Ora Williams, and a host of family and friends. Funeral Services will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, December 30th at Bread of Life 7223 East Bannister Rd. KCMO 64134. Visitation 1pm. Private Disposition.
