Ms. Jeanette Faye Scott

Jeanette Faye Scott, age 71, of Kansas City, Missouri, went home to be with the Lord on October 20, 2025. She was born on July 15, 1954, in Tamo, Arkansas, to the late Clarence and Mandy Jones. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Mandy Jones, and six siblings, Clarence E. Jones Sr., Arthur Jones, Marzell Jones, Margaret Jones, Rose Thornton, and Essie Frazier. When Jeanette was five years old, her parents moved the family to Kansas City, Missouri, where she grew up surrounded by the love and laughter of her seven siblings. She received her education in the Kansas City Public Schools. In 1971, Jeanette married her high school sweetheart, Rickie Scott. Their union was blessed with three beautiful children: daughters Shirlene Parker and Tawana Anderson, and son Hikieme Scott Sr. Jeanette devoted herself to her family, and even after twenty years of marriage and their later divorce, she remained a loving and supportive mother, grandmother, and friend. Jeanette was a woman of great strength, humor, and heart. Though illness prevented her from working in her later years, she faced every challenge with courage and faith. She was best known for her loving spirit, quick wit, and the way she could make everyone around her smile. Her home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and the sound of music she loved to play and sing along to. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren — caring for them, sharing wisdom, and telling the funny stories her family will cherish forever. A devoted believer in God and Christ, Jeanette’s faith was the cornerstone of her life. She was a praying woman who trusted in the Lord through every season. Her belief in God’s goodness was evident in the way she treated others — always kind, always giving, and always ready to lend a listening ear or a comforting word. Jeanette leaves behind a legacy of love that will never be forgotten. She is survived by her three children: Shirlene Parker (Tracy Parker Sr.), Tawana Scott Anderson (Charles Anderson), and her son, Hikieme Scott Sr.; a daughter-in-law, Tammy Scott; one brother, Billy Jones (Clara Jones); 13 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will continue to honor her memory. Jeanette will be remembered for her deep faith, her unwavering love for family, and her joyful spirit that touched everyone she met. She will be deeply missed but forever loved, and her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, November 8, 2025, 11am at the Watkins Heritage Chapel.
