Obituary Jeannette Francine (Woodard) Bolden was born to the union of Elreno (Davis) Woodard and Joseph Sylvester Woodard on February 4, 1945 in Crescent, Ok. She was fourth of five children. She accepted Christ at seven years old in Wichita, KS. She attended school in Crescent, OK, Wichita, KS and graduated from Lincoln Senior High School in 1963 in Kansas City, MO. After moving to Kansas City, MO in 1953 Jeannette Francine (Woodard) Bolden attended Morning Star Baptist Church, Southside First Baptist Church and was a current member of Peace Baptist Church in which she was a founding member. Whatever she was asked to do in service – she tried to do. She loved the Lord, her family, church family, and friends. Jeannette Francine (Woodard) Bolden married James Bolden on October 22, 1966. They divorced in the 1978. Despite severe health and life challenges, Jeannette was a very compassionate, creative and thoughtful woman who always had uplifting and encouraging words. She believed in you, and she especially believed in young people. Jeannette dedicated her life to caring and advocating for underserved and troubled children for over 30 years by administering and providing social services through Swope Health Services formerly known as Swope Parkway Health Center and Comprehensive Mental Health where she created her own Respite and Treatment Family Home. She was honored in Kansas City for her tireless dedication to children and their families. She had a volunteerism spirit, serving in community organizations such as Children’s Mercy Hospital and the Grandparents Association. As a member of the Grandparent Association, she provided a listening ear for grandparents raising their grandchildren and assisted them with identifying resources within the community. Jeannette participated in out of town trainings that enhanced her understanding of youth, adolescents and their parents or guardians to better serve them. She was very active with her high school alma mater, the graduating class of 1963 Lincoln Tigers, as the correspondence liaison. Everyone could count on her to keep all class members updated with each other’s birthdays, health and wealth. She had a gift of remembering and honoring you. Few classmates, family members and friends can say they did not receive a greeting card or calls from her on special occasions and times like this one today. She was thoughtful and noticed even the smallest details. She had a gracious heart for anything, anyone did for her. She loved to socialize and travel with friends and family. Despite her health, she would joyfully try to support your passions and acts of services. Jeannette was preceded in death by her mother, father, grandparents (Jeannette (Searuggs) Davis and John Davis, sister, Almerene Woodard, brothers: Albert LaVelle Woodard and Lawrence Edward Woodard, daughter, Lezandra Eloise Bolden, grandson, Christian Harvel, Sister-in-Law, Helen Bolden and her very special significant other Earnest Roberts.
