Ms. Janice Marie Knight

Janice M. Knight was born on March 18, 1955 in Little Rock, Arkansas to the union of Will Baldwin and Annie Mae (Jackson) Baldwin. She was the ninth of ten children born to this union. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, John Mitchell, Paul Tate, Willa Martin, Sidney Ridge and Don Wayne Baldwin, uncle, Sidney Jackson, nephews, Tyree Stuckey, Keenan Ridge and Terrell Henderson, nieces, Sonya Callis and Toni Callis. Janice was educated in the Kansas City Missouri Public Schools and was a graduate Lincoln High School class of 1973. She furthered her education at Penn Valley Community College where she received her associate degree. She then went on to Rockhurst College, achieving her master in accounting. She was employed with the Department of Finance for the Marine Corp over 32 years before retiring as a GS-11 in 2011. Janice gave her life to the Lord at an early age and was a faithful member of the Blue Hills Church of the Nazarene under the leadership of Dr. Larry C. Lott. She shared her gift of singing in the church choir always walking by faith, she was a loyal servant of the Lord. Janice was a classy and jazzy Pre-Madonna. She loved traveling, reading ,fashion and pretty shoes. She was the embodiment of elegance and strength. Her mind sharp as it was kind, she approached every challenge in life with wisdom and resilence, a pillar to her family. She was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, aunt and friend. Her love for her family was the foundation of everything she did, as she nurtured, protected and uplifted those she loved. Janice departed this life on Friday, April 18, 2025 at Research Medical Center. She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Miyya Baldwin; brother, Harold Baldwin (Willa); sisters, Andrea Baldwin and Delphia Goss; nephews, Joseph Knox, Michael Baldwin, Kelley Evans, Carlos Colston and Myron Johnson; nieces, Rachelle Evans, Charlesetta Ridge, Tamika Burns, Candice Baldwin and Tarana Baldwin, special friend, Kelvin Thurman, a host of great nephews and nieces, great nieces, great-great nephews and nieces, cousins other relatives and friends. Funeral services Saturday, May 3, at 11:00am at Lawrence A. Jones & Sons Funeral Chapel. Interment Forest Hill Cemetery. Visitation 10:00am-11:00am at the chapel.
