Ms. Janet Henderson

Obituary Janet Marie Henderson, 71, was born into the loving arms of Fred and Lou Effie Webber on August 4, 1949, in Kansas City, Kansas. She later returned to the loving arms of the Lord on July 2, 2021. Janet, raised in Kansas City, Missouri, attended Central High School until the city’s school district boundaries changed. She graduated proudly from Paseo High School in 1967 while carrying the Centralite pride in her heart. She remained true to her heart by maintaining life- long friendships with the wonderful people she met at Central. After high school, Janet traveled and lived in various places such as California, Texas and Arkansas. She started her pursuit of college education in California, continued in Texas, where she then met her daughter Clarissa’s father, Bobby Buggs. Janet and Clarissa moved back to Kansas City, Missouri. While back home, Janet and Clarissa were involved in a horrific car accident that Clarissa did not survive. After Clarissa’s passing, Janet moved to Arkansas for a few years until she came home to take care of her brother, Michael, until his passing. While doing so, she was enrolled in the University of Missouri-Kansas City where she earned her Bachelor’s Degree. A few years later she married Greg Henderson. Janet worked for the Federal government for several years with the IRS and Homeland Security. Before retiring she worked for the State of Missouri’s Child Support Services. Janet was very intelligent. She excelled in everything she sat her heart out to do, such as learning the art of etiquette in the hopes of educating young black children. She loved teaching others, as she was a very wise, poised woman. She was a loving Christian, who loved the Lord with all of her heart and jubilantly studied His word. Janet was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Lou Effie Webber, her daughter, Clarissa Buggs, her brothers, Michael and Joseph Webber, brothers-in-law, Raymond Carpenter, Sr. and Glenn Atkins. Janet leaves to cherish her memory, her sisters, Norma Carpenter, Cynthia Atkins, Amanda (Donald) Webber-Doolin of Kansas City, Missouri; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
