Mr. Jalil R. Sharrief

Jalil Rafi Sharrieff was born on September 6, 1990 to Zinat Sharrieff in Kansas City, KS. He was preceded in death by his mother and brother, Ibn Sharrieff. He was a long time member of St. Stephen Baptist Church, under the leadership of Pastor Eric Belt. He was also baptized and attended many worship services there with his grandmother. Jalil served faithfully in the Media Ministry and worked diligently as the Head Sound Engineer for several years and would serve whenever he was called upon. He was educated in the public schools of Kansas City, MO. After graduating from the Paseo Academy of Fine & Performing Arts, Jalil furthered his education by attending the Metropolitan Community Colleges Penn Valley Campus. He also attended Combat Martial Arts Academy and earned a yellow belt in karate while there. He was later employed by Cricket, Sprint, and was a star employee at T-Mobile. He was recently honored as the recipient of the Top Mobile Expert Award at T-Mobile. Jalil was very smart, keen, and witty. He had a wonderful sense of humor, and he was a joy to be around. He was very generous, and he never asked for anything in return. He excelled in the field of electronics, and whenever anyone had a question pertaining to cell phones, he was the expert whom everyone went to. Jalil was a very kind-hearted, caring, and endearing young man. He never met a stranger; his smile would light up the room, and his laughter was infectious! He was very outgoing and was well-loved by everyone who knew him. He will be greatly missed! Our loss became heaven’s gain on Friday, August 4, 2023. Jalil leaves to cherish his memory his beloved grandmother, Myrtle Bonds, sister LaTosha Peoples, brother-in-law, Rev. Arthur Peoples, nieces, Tiana (David) Diaz, Alia Peoples, and Jaelle Harvey, nephew, Ramono Diaz, aunts, Rita (Stan) Boyd, and Rosalind Baynham, uncles, Jerry Scott, Andre (Michelle) Bonds, Luther (Debra) Bonds, Keith Bonds, and Greg Bonds, Best Friend Robin (D’Wayne) Armster, Special Friends Demi Scott, Shakiel Salaam, and a host of cousins, other relatives, coworkers, and friends. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2023, 12:00pm at the Nexus Church 15101 College Blvd.- Lenexa, KS 66219. Interment Mount Moriah Cemetery. Visitation will be 11:00am-12:00pm at the church. Services conducted by Lawrence A. Jones & Sons Funeral Chapel. Condolences may be shared on our website.
