Ms.Betty J. Roland

Obituary Betty Joe Roland passed peacefully on June 20th, 2022, at Research Neuroscience Institute-Kansas City. She was surrounded and supported by her Loving Family and Caregivers during the last days of her life. Betty was a Loving, Giving and Nurtured woman of God, even in her darkest hours she gave to those in need, by deciding to become a Donor of Donate Life America. Betty was born in Kansas City, Missouri on March 21st, 1954, the fifth of ten children to John Wesley Roland, Sr., and Anna (Addie) Pryor-Roland. Betty was an Alumni of Central High School Class of 1972, where she was the Drill Team Captain, served on the Pep Club, Student Council, and countless other activities she was proud to be a member of. This month she was looking to Celebrate her 50th Class Reunion with her old Friends, a cousin, and Best-Friend. Betty was proceeding in death by her a sister, both Parents, Stepfather Eddie C. Goss, Sr., daughter, brother, and Ex-Husband. Later in Life, Betty became an Ordained Minister where she practiced and studied under a host Great Bishop’s, Pastors, Elders, and other Clergy Members. She was recently a faithful, resolute Member of Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church. Betty was Blessed with a Giving Heart and a Sweet Soul, she was very Humbled with speaking words of comfort, she believed in supplying healing words, preparing meals, and giving clothing to those in need. On March 19, 1971, Betty married her Best-Friend Mr. Floyd Pennington, and to this Union one child was born. Although, this marriage was dissolved the Friendship and Love remained. Betty later married Norman E Douglas(deceased) were they both moved to Columbia, Mo and to this Union eight children were born. Betty leaves behind her greatest accomplishments, her Nine Children Tracy A. Pennington (KCMO) LaShelle Pennington (Laquey, MO), Velveeta D. Douglas, Raymond A Douglas (Tulsa, Oklahoma), Quaderria Douglas (KCMO), Nahooiaan Douglas (Carrisa)(Califonia), Norma E Douglas Clark (deceased age 16), Vivian A Williams (Marcus) (KCMO), and Rebekah Moore (KCMO).23 Grand-Children and 3 Great-Grand Children. Siblings-Frances A. Roland(deceased), Frances L. Johnson (Conyers. GA), John W. Roland, Jr. (KCMO), Robert K. Roland, Sr.(deceased), Emmanuel L. Roland, Sr. (Dallas, TX), Jerry W. Roland, Sr. (Peculiar, Mo) Mary K. McDaniel (Kathy) (KCMO), Ronald E Roland (KCMO), Michael Roland (Tulsa). And a Host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousins, and Friends. Funeral service will be held Friday, July 1, 2022, 11:00am at Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church. Interment Brooking Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10-11am at the church.
