Ms. Inez Stewart

Inez Stewart was carried home by the angels on November 14, 2023, at her residence. She was born on April 15, 1924, to the union of James Rubin Anderson and Marion Elizabeth (Gray) Anderson in Quindero, Kansas. Inez was preceded in death by both parents; her spouse, Hampton D Stewart Jr.; three brothers, Curtis Anderson, Amos Anderson, James Anderson Jr.; two sisters, Nadine Epps, Bernice Baker; three step-brothers, Johnnie Darthard, Lemarcy Darthard, Jackie Darthard; four nephews, John Williams, Theodore (Nip) Anderson, Curtis Anderson, Keith Anderson and one niece, Marion Baker. Inez was educated in both Kansas City, Kansas and Kansas City, Missouri. She was married to Jamie L. Drizzle who preceded her in death. She was later married to Hampton D. Stewart from September 1, 1959, until his passing in 2015. She was a member of the Mt. Vernon Missionary Baptist church, under the leadership of Reverend Emmanuel Johnson and later, Reverend Donald Givens until she was unable to attend due to health reasons. Inez was employed by the U.S. Government at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for twenty years. She was always the caretaker of her family as she helped to raise her brothers and sisters, her niece and nephew after the death of their parents along with her own two children Louise and Robert. She later had a daycare center for ten years where she taught and loved on her little ones. Inez was an active member of Faith Chapter #110, Order of Eastern Star, Kansas City Chapter and the Daughters of Isis for more than forty years and a member of the Deb Starlets for over thirty years. She held several leadership positions during her time in these organizations. She leaves to mourn her passing; a son, Robert Drizzle (Shirley); a daughter, Louise Henderson; nephew she raised, Ronald Haynes; step-son, Hampton Stewart Jr.; two sisters, Elizabeth (Roxie) Williams, Gwendolyn Stephenson; four granddaughters, Yvette Sabur (Shadeed), Rhonda Ruffin (Paul), Willina Drizzle, Darla Andrews (Lester); one grandson, Shawn Johnson; six great-grandsons, Ryan Harvey, Warren Harvey, Marcus Drizzle, Paul Ruffin, Jawun Robinson, Owen Fudge; one great-granddaughter Shynice Spencer(Charles); ten great-great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, and a host of family and friends. The way she loved us, taught us, cared for us and prayed for us will never be forgotten. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 25, 2023, 11am Mt Vernon MBC 3934 Prospect Ave KCMO 64130. Interment Monday, November 27th, 10:30am Forest Hill. Eastern Star Faith Chapter 110 Ceremonial 10am-10:30am at the chapel. Visitation will be from 10am-11am at the church. Service conducted by Lawrence A. Jones & Sons Funeral Chapel. Condolences may be shared on our website.
