Rev. Hironori T. James, Sr.

Obituary On July 3, 1959, Hironori T James Sr. was born to Richard and Edith James of North Carolina. Later in life he attended the Charles E. Jordan High School, where he made lifelong friends and met Shelia Griffin whose union would later give birth to a baby boy, Hironori T. James, II, followed by a baby girl, Kieana L. James. He was honorably discharged after serving 3 years in the US Army. He answered God’s calling upon his life and entered the ministry, serving with a few local churches in North Carolina over the years. He last appointment being an Elder at Grace Ministries International, Durham, NC. Henri, Thomas and Cowboy were some of the names he was called by those that knew him, but the names he was most proud of were Daddy, Grandpa, Kuncle, and Elder James. He was a passionate Christian and a devoted father, grandfather, uncle and brother. Henri was extremely proud of his son and all his grandchildren as well as his great grandchildren. He always spoke highly of them and was never shy about showing the world via social media his love for them all. He was not only loved by his family but a host of friends from all over whether you knew him for years or just that day, he was sure to leave an unforgettable impression. He was intentional about keeping in touch with everyone. Hironori embraced the saying “If someone crosses your mind, reach out to them”. He always had a scripture, a funny story, words of encouragement, or just a patient ear available to any and everyone. He met no stranger and was always willing to lend a helping hand. As any people would attest, “he was willing to give you the shirt off his back”. He was proceeded in death by his father, Richard D James Jr., mother, Edith N James; an older brother Richard D James III and daughter Kieana L. James. He leaves to cherish his memory his only son, Hironori T James, II (wife Kanielle) of MO; eleven grandchildren: Diamond James of MO, Jamal Jones of AZ, Markain White of AZ, Keivon James of MO, Kieana Bonner (husband Edward) of TX, Anisa James of MO, Brieana James of TX, Alicia James of MO, Aliana James of MO, Noriah James of MO, and Sharde James of MO; six great grandchildren: Paula Reed (child of Diamond), Amara Presley (child of Anisa), Olivia & Cameron Bonner (children of Kieana) and Khari & Kali James-Bynum (children of Alicia); a sister, Richele; a niece, Emi, and a host of loving relatives and friends.
