Obituary Mr. Geoffrey Lynn Rashaw was born to Mr. John R. Rashaw, Sr. and Mrs. Ruby M. Rashaw on January 17, 1962 in Kansas City, Missouri. He was one of nine siblings: Annette, Jeanette, John, Jr., Melvin, Vanessa, Michael, Bruce and Daniel. He attended school in the Kansas City, Missouri School District where he was a student at Sanford B. Ladd, Central Junior and Senior High Schools. He graduated in 1979 and was a Blue Eagle alum. He furthered his education and ultimately achieved a certification in automotive body repair from the Kansas City Technology Institute as well as attended Penn Valley Community College. He went on to work at Full Employment Counsel, O’Neill Oldsmobile, JC Keys and Night Shift Auto Body, before becoming the sole proprietor to Rising Star Auto Sales. Geoffrey professed his faith and love for Jesus Christ at an early age and was baptized at Community Mission Baptist Church by Reverend Charles D. Bell, Sr. He was an active member early on and joined the church choir. Jeff, as he was called by everyone, had a generous spirit and an everlasting love for his family and all those he cared about. He was always willing to help and went out of his way to assist whenever available, especially when it came to the elderly. Jeff had an overwhelming sense of love and pride when it came to his children and never missed an opportunity to express that to everyone. As a result of his generous spirit and pleasant personality, he was loved by many. His influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew him. He made the transition to be with the Father on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 in Butner, North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his father, John R. Rashaw, Sr.; his brothers Melvin; and John, Jr.; his sister Jeanette; and his maternal and paternal grandparents. His beautiful life will forever be cherished and he is survived by his 92 year old mother, Mrs. Ruby Rashaw, his sons, Alphonzo (Brenna) of Moore, Oklahoma, Godfrey (Jaime) of Las Vegas, Nevada, Aziz of Kansas City, Kansas; his daughters Alyssa of Washington D.C. and Jhonetta of Leavenworth, Kansas; six grandchildren, Leila Jade (Alphonzo), Brielle Ruby and Rozlyn Elnora (Godfrey), Ameir, Kimai and King (Aziz); his bothers Michael (Kim), Bruce (Vernessa) and Daniel all of Kansas City, Missouri; his sister Annette of Lewisville, Texas; and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, April 20, 2019 at Blue Hills Church of The Nazarene 10306 Blue Ridge Blvd KCMO. Visitation 9:00 A.M. Interment Forest Hill Calvary Cemetery.
