Felicia Michele Smith was born on October 28, 1972, in Kansas City, Missouri, at General Hospital, to Mary Dotson and Joseph Johnson. She was preceded in death by her father, Joseph Johnson; her paternal grandparents, Mary Alexandria and Aaron Johnson; her maternal grandparents, Willanna and John Smith; her maternal aunts, Jessie Smith; and Velma Morrow; her maternal uncles, Ruben Smith, Johnny Smith, and Leroy Smith; her paternal uncle, Donald Johnson; her paternal aunt, Katie Wine; and a host of beloved cousins on both her maternal and paternal sides. Felicia graduated from Van Horn High School in independence, Missouri, in 1992. Shortly after graduation, she and Gary McCloud welcomed their only child, Keshena McCloud, into the world. While embracing motherhood, Felicia also pursued her passion for cosmetology and earned her cosmetology license. Felicia had a true gift for hair styling and found great joy in caring for others through her work. She lovingly styled the hair of her mother, aunts, daughter, granddaughter, grandson, sister, and many close friends. She later worked at Wells Fargo for more than 10 years before retiring. After retirement, Felicia became known for her love of cooking and couponing and her ability to provide for her family in thoughtful and meaningful ways. Family was at the center of Felicia’s life. She treasured every moment spent with her loved ones and was present for many of life’s most meaningful milestones, including the births of her niece, nephew, and grandchildren. Becoming a grandmother brought her immeasurable joy, and her love for each grandchild grew deeper with every passing day. Her radiant smile and nurturing spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Felicia departed this life on April 10, 2026, at 7:15 a.m. at Saint Luke’s Hospital in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. Felicia leaves to cherish her memory her loving mother, Mary Dotson; her sister, Marlena Dotson; her brother, John Kirkendoll; her devoted daughter, Keshena McCloud; her beloved grandchildren, Joshua Smith, Naomi McCloud, Jeremiah McCloud; her niece, Amari Moore; her nephew, Zamaris Dotson; bonus kids, Montaya and Gary McCloud, her aunts, Dora Maples, Linda Faye, and Geneva; her uncles, Royal, Vincent, Perry, Aaron, Wayne and Marcus; along with a host of cousins, extended family members, and dear friends. Felicia’s love, kindness strength, and dedication to family will be remembered always. Funeral Services will be held on Friday, May 15, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Lawrence A.
