Ms. Ethel D. Williams

Ethel Dell Williams was born January 14, 1937, in Plain Dealing, Louisiana, to Robert Williams and Dolly Ann Hines Williams. She was the fourth child of ten born from this union. She is preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, one sister, one great-grandson, and her beloved Edward Lewis. Ethel accepted Christ early at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church in her hometown. When she moved to Kansas City, Missouri, she became a member of Shiloh Institutional Church of God in Christ. Ethel received her education at Carrie Martin High School in her hometown. She relocated to New Orleans, LA, where she lived for 41 years. She worked for Rutter Rex Sewing factory until she moved to Kansas City, Missouri, in 1995. Ethel continued her love for sewing by becoming an alterations specialist for a private company, and later was employed by Certified Safety Manufacturing, Inc. until her retirement at age 72. Ethel loved sewing so much that she made many of her clothes and occasionally also sewed for family members and friends. Ethel Dell Williams departed this life on the 11th of May 2025, with her son, Gary, and sister Eva by her side. Ethel leaves to celebrate her life and homegoing her three sons: Robert (Belinda) Williams, Pearland, TX; Gary (Asandria) Williams, New Orleans, LA; Edward Williams, Portland, OR; one brother, John (Lorene) Williams, Plain Dealing, LA, three sisters, Eva Thomas, Essie White, and Marie Warren, all of Kansas City, MO. She also leaves to cherish her memories eleven grandchildren: Kenna Williams, Sean Williams, Eric Williams, Houston, TX; Geary Gleason, Athens, AL; Trinissa Reff, Garin Williams, Cody Williams, and Courtney Williams, New Orleans, LA; Greg Gleason, Baton Rouge, LA; Aneras and Ethen Williams, Vancouver, WA.; seventeen great grandchildren, one great great-grandson, one goddaughter Myrna Slack Phipps, a host of cousins, nieces and nephews and a special sister-in law Julia Lewis, Violet, LA. Funeral services Friday, May 23, at 11:00am at Shiloh Institutional Church of God In Christ. Interment Brooking Cemetery. Visitation Friday 10:00am-11:00am at the church. Services conducted by Lawrence A. Jones & Sons Funeral Chapel. Condolences may be shared on our website.
