Ms. Esther Moore

Esther L. (Broom) Moore was born to Albert and Ivy (Bayum) Broom on December 18, 1936 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Esther was born the only child to this union Esther was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents, three sons, Tony, Rev. James Vincent, William and her husband, William Moore, two sisters Betty Danzie and Jodie Green and one brother, Alvin Glen Broom Esther relocated to Little Rock, Arkansas to live with her grandparents Tom and Ruth Lockett. Esther spent her summers in Kansas City, Missouri after her father relocated for his job. Esther attended Dunbar High School in Little Rock Arkansas, and Velevetux Beauty College receiving her license in dual states for cosmetologist. Esther also furthered her education at UMKC in Kansas City, Missouri and Joe Heardon in Raytown Missouri majoring in computers courses. She was very active in class member in her school reunions. Mom loved to sew learning this skill from her grandmother at an early age she would make all of her daughters’ clothes that she wore. She would sit down every Saturday evening and make her a new dress for Sunday church service. When Covid-19 hit Mom sit down and drew her pattern for masked and started sewing. Esther met and married William J. Moore in January of 1956 in Kansas City, Missouri. To this union five children were born William J., Jacqueline, Tony, Lawrence and Rev. James Vincent Moore. Esther started her work career at Western Union as a telegraph operator and ended her career at EPA as a customer service receptionist. She also owned and operated Esther Beauty Salon for 47 years part-time. Esther accepted Christ at an early age at Bullock Temple in Little Rock Arkansas, after relocating to Kansas City, Missouri united with Ward Chapel. Esther after marriage joined the Galilee Missionary Baptist Church to be with her husband and mother-in-love. Esther love traveling with her sisters on cruises and family reunions, Mom was always ready to travel to Florida with son Lawrence and daughter- in- love Yolanda (deceased) and her grandchildren. She loved to swim and taught her grandchildren to swim and walking on the sandy beaches. She also loved traveling with grandson Daniel to California and teaching him how to swim. Esther inherited three beautiful sisters and two bonus brothers Jodie Green, Betty Danize and Elise Prioleau, Albert Broom and Alvin Glen Broom. Esther service to God continued as President of the Union District Ushers, Choir President and later the late Rev. S.S. Thompson would appointed her as President of Galilee Missionary Baptist Church Ushers. The title that she loved and cherish so much was Church Mother given to her by the late Rev. Phillip A. Layne. She passed away on June 8, 2024, at North Kansas City Hospital. Esther leaves to Cherish her memories one daughter Jacqueline Moore and one son Lawrence Moore ,Sister Elise Prioleau and brother Albert (Pamela) Broom 12 Grandkids and 5 great-grand kids and three great-great grandkids. Funeral services Saturday, June 22, 2024, 11:00am at Galilee Missionary Baptist Church. Private Disposition. Visitation 10:00am-11:00am at the church.. Services conducted by Lawrence A.
