Mr. Edwin Redmond

Edwin Rogers Redmond, 58, passed away November 8, 2023, at St. Lukes Hospital in Kanas City, Missouri. He was born on July 28, 1965 Pittsburg, KS. to Edwin E. Redmond and Jacqueline Franklin. He was raised by mother Jacque and stepfather Elmer Franklin. Edwin or “Eddie” grew up in Pittsburg, KS., with time spent between Kansas City, KS., and San Diego, CA. Eddie gratuated from Schlagle High School in Kansas City, KS. in 1983. After High School, he took some College courses and trained and worked in Trades. Eddie spent a short time in the Reserves of the Armed Forces. He soon gravitated to the trade of Auto Mechanic, and spent the majority of his adult career time learning as much as he could about engines, how they work, and what to do to fix them when they stop working. Along with working as a mechanic, he worked in the field of Over the Road Truck Driving. He used his skills in this area throughout his career years. He attended Church in Kansas City, Mo. Eddie was never married and did not have any children of his own, though he was known as “Uncle Eddie” to many. Eddie was preceded in death by grandfather Wallace C. Rogers, grandmother Lody Rogers, birth father Edwin E. Redmond, and Brother Steven L. Redmond. Eddie is survived by his Mother Jaqueline Franklin,brother Tim Beatty, sister Dannielle Allen, stepfather Elmer Franklin, nieces, nephews, cousins, and a great number of other family and friends. Funeral Reception and Lying in State to be held at Lawrence A. Jones & Sons Funeral Chapels, 1800 Linwood Blvd. in Kansas City, Mo. 64109 on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 at 10:00am - 12:00pm. We will depart at 12:15pm for the Gravesite Service to be held at Holy Archangel Michael and All Angels Skete in Weatherby, Mo. 28650 105th St. Weatherby, Mo. 64497. The family would like to extend our gratitude to the ICU Staff at St. Luke’s Hospital, who cared for Eddie in his last hours. You showed professionalism, commitment, and compassion to Eddie and to our family in such a time of urgency and uncertainty. Also the family thanks Lawrence A.
