Obituary Edward “Buggy” Lewis Jr, 61, of Kansas City, MO, died suddenly November 14th, 2021 at Ignite Medical Resort, after battling complications with type 1 diabetes. Edward was born in Shreveport, LA on September 23,1960 to the late Edward Lewis Sr. and Jo Ann (Lewis) Herron. The oldest of three children, Edward -- most affectionately known to those close to him as Buggy -- loved all genres of music, fashion, traveling, world news, and the Arts. He was a graduate of Southeast High School (Class of 1978) and attended the University of Kansas School of Architecture and Design, where his unique skill set allowed him to obtain a position at the prestigious Black & Veatch. Edward would later go on to work for City Hall in their City Planning, Development and Improvement department. Edward was a proud member of Palestine Missionary Baptist Church of Jesus Christ where he served on the deacon board for several years with great honor. His passion for learning and understanding the complexities of religion kept him very busy. During his time as an active member, Edward was a faithful servant who went above and beyond the call of duty. Edward leaves his beloved daughter, DeNina (Adrian) N. Hoquee of Dhahran, Saudi Arabia and grandchildren August and Avé Noor. He is survived by his loving and supportive mother, Jo Ann Herron of Kansas City; his sisters, Gina J. Lewis of Kansas City, MO and Jill (John) A. Parham of Hillsborough, NJ; his niece, Brioné A. Lewis of Dallas, TX and his nephews Jalen L. Parham and Jackson L. Parham, both of Hillsborough, NJ. He also leaves to cherish his memory his former wife, Sandra K. Lewis of Kansas City, MO, as well as a host of close relatives, family, and friends. He will fondly be remembered, loved and missed by all. Visitation, along with a celebration of Edward’s life, will take place at Palestine Missionary Baptist Church, 3619 E 35th St. Kansas City, MO on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at 9:00am. Funeral services will begin promptly at 11:00am. Interment will follow at Mt. Moriah Cemetery, 10507 Holmes Rd, Kansas City, MO.
