Ms. Dorinda L. Davis

For each life, there is a purpose, and it ends when that purpose is complete. Dorinda L. Davis was called home to rest in God’s loving arms on March 18, 2024. Dorinda was born in Kansas City, MO on August 17, 1957 to Samuel Davis and Betty Ann Clarkson. Dorinda’s story began on 16th and Norton. Dorinda began school at Yeager where she excelled. She later attended East High School and then went on to Southeast High School where she was a proud member of the Class of 1975. Dorinda had a relationship with the Lord that was unmatched. Her walk with Christ began at Galilee Baptist Church where she was baptized. Her walk led her to many churches that were all touched by her: Log Providence Baptist, Mount Vernon Missionary Baptist Church, Deliverance Temple C.O.G.I.C., and 7th Street Missionary Baptist Church. Through all of life's trials and tribulations Dorinda’s faith never wavered. She truly loved the Lord. Dorinda was a “Jack of all trades”, specializing in making something out of nothing. She awed the world with her design eye and decorated magazine worthy Christmas trees. Never meeting a stranger, Dorinda was always the life of the party everywhere she went. With her amazing sense of humor and big beautiful smile she was loved by all who experienced her. She loved music and could 2 Step all night long. Her holiday parties and 4th of July barbecues were always looked forward to. Greeting Dorinda in glory are both parents Samuel Davis and Betty Ann Clarkson, maternal and paternal grandparents, Cousin Junior, a nephew Antwon Dixon, and her “Noonabug” Alayshia Durant. Left to Cherish her memory are her children Terrance L. Davis, DeAndre L. Davis, and Deja L. Davis. Grandchildren, Nautical J. Threat, Davion R. Davis, and Antonio A. Veal Jr., Great Grandchildren, Cairo Jackson, Leilani Davis, Da’Vi Davis, and A’leia Davis. Sisters, Gwen Caine (Duane), and Connie Bailus. Nieces and Nephews, Ebony Caine, Samantha Caine, Leila Bailus, Shaneatra Neely, Darick Neely, Anthony Dixon Sr., ReShaude Hall, Brandi Speed, Demetrius Trammel Sr., and Michael Ward. Aunts, Katheryn Stephens, Rita Cloud, and Miriam Young. Lifetime Siblings, Arnold Murrell, Valerie Henderson, Lauren Reese, Denise Dixon, Diantha Hall, Billy Hunter, Oscar Ward, Randy Parker, Barry Crosdale, Sam Brown, Sheila Hill, Vicki Peterson, Coqueese Sanders, Cathy Carter, Dawna Montgomery, and Loretta Campbell. God Children, Toni Grandison, and John Boyd. The entire Davis and Clarkson Families. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024, 2:00pm at the Watkins Hertiage Chapel. Private Disposition. Visitation from 1:00pm-2:00pm at the chapel. Services entrusted to Lawrence A. Jones & Sons. Condolences may be shared on this website.
