Don Eugene Myles

Obituary On March 28, 1962, Don Eugene Myles was born in Kansas City, Kansas to proud parents, Betty and Don Myles, Sr. Don was the only son born to this union. Donnie departed this life on February 23, 2018. He was preceded in death by his father, Don, stepfather, Ed Morgan, uncle, Troy Young, and grandparents, Hazel and Silas Young. Donnie, as he was affectionately called by his family, was diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy at a very early age. Despite his condition and doctor’s grim diagnosis that he wouldn’t survive past childhood, Don lived a long life. What the doctors didn’t know, was that Don was a fighter and would spend decade after decade proving them wrong. Donnie attended school in Kansas City, Missouri. He was outgoing and made numerous friends and acquaintances everywhere he went. He loved to be involved in anything from school programs to class parties. He earned his Diploma from R.J. Delano High School in 1983. In his younger years, Donnie enjoyed an active lifestyle. He spent his summers at various day camps, enjoying roller coasters, and spending hours floating in the pool. As he got older, you could often find him at concerts, movies, and even taking classes at a nearby community college. Donnie was a generous and loving brother and son. In spite of his physical limitations, he was always happy and cheerful. He loved music, especially 80’s R&B, people-watching, and sightseeing. He was a prankster and could be downright ornery. This included teasing his sister by putting her in headlocks and pulling her hair when they were children. He was also a huge flirt. If there were pretty women around, you could bet that he’d flirt with them no matter if they were nurses, Caregivers, and even his sister’s friends! Although he couldn't use words, Don could communicate how he felt about anything or anyone, good or bad, and everything in between. Don’s bright sparkle in his eyes and the ease of his wide smile touched anyone who ever had the pleasure of meeting him. Don Eugene “Donnie” Myles leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Betty Morgan; sisters, Carmen Morgan and Toni Alexander; niece, Mareya Alexander; nephew, Lance Alexander; stepmother, Liz Myles; stepsister, Angie Myles; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, other family members, and friends.
