Obituary Deacon Stanley Craig Childs 63 of Kansas City, Missouri, was born on December 24, 1958, to Rev Daniel Childs, Sr and Virginia Lee Jones-Childs, He was the third of nine children. Deacon Childs was a caring and affectionate son Deacon Childs accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age under the Pastorate of his father Rev Daniel Childs Sr at Greater Mt Pisgah Missionary Baptist Church, he was educated in the public schools of Kansas City Missouri attending Southeast High. Deacon Childs proudly served as a Deacon for more than 40 years in the Baptist Ministry. He rejoiced in leading devotion and prayer on Sunday mornings, with a joyful heart and a strong and powerful voice of song and praise lifting up the name of the Lord. Deacon Childs was a Founding Member and Deacon at the Fellowship Right Baptist Church, and proudly served as the Chairman of the Board of Deacons (RETIRED). While for a time also operating in the transportation services of Fellowship Right Baptist Church Deacon Childs aka Stan the man to his friends and coworkers worked as a young adult in security for Pioneer Community College and was the Head of Security for the InterContinental Plaza Hotel but owning and operating as a Cabbie and Passenger Transport service was his passion, he traveled thousands of miles, as he greeted and befriended hundreds of travelers and fellow cabbie operators. He happily operated for more than 35 years ensuring passengers reach their destinations safely and on time. Deacon Stanley Childs was affectionately known by his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren as “DADDY”, “POPS” or “PAPA”, he was a very doting and loveable father, grandfather and great grandfather. Papa was affectionate, loving and understanding with an outgoing spirit and a huge heart, never missing an opportunity to be available, Papa was always only a phone call away. Never saying goodbye, papa was known for saying “NOW GET OFF MY PHONE”. Papa was a confidant that was compassionate and supportive, making all around him feel a special connection and bond as he treated and called those closest to his heart his “BABIES”. Papa had a grand scene of humor for cracking jokes and storytelling that would leave anyone in hearing distance in tears of joy and laughter. Papa was a shining light and an honorable man being a father figure to the fatherless and grand fatherless providing and protecting all around him. “Papa would cross the Pacific Ocean for his heart’s” -Raivie. Uncle Stan as known to most of his large family had a close and caring relationship with all his siblings, his niece’s and nephew’s, his great niece’s and great nephew’s, and his entire family. Uncle Stan was a brave outspoken Pillar of the family, supporting and problem-solving for everyone but especially for standing up for the youth and children of his family and community. Uncle Stan known for welcoming carloads of children and anyone willing to rejoice in the house of the Lord. Uncle Stan was known for attending all special occasion’s including being a strong support system for countless celebration of life homegoing’s. Uncle Stan was a very proud and active uncle and will be truly missed by so many. Deacon Childs was a longtime superfan of the Kansas City Chiefs and Dallas Cowboys football teams, not missing a game, he was known for passing around and mailing yearly Chief’s game schedules. Deacon Stanley Craig Childs had plans of seeing his mother again and laying in her arms.
