Obituary Lee Arthur Canada transition at home on Thursday, April 6, 2023, with his loving wife Cleo and family at his bedside. Lee Arthur Canada was born April 30, 1944 in Kansas City, Missouri to the union of Oliver Canada Sr. and Idella Speed Canada. Both parents, one son, James Lavase Farmer, four brothers; Jack Clark, Jimmy Lee Canada, Eugene Canada, and Charlie Canada, Four sisters; Arma Jean Canada Robinson, Josephine Canada, Paralie Canada Williams and Lauree Canada preceded him in death. Lee attended WW Yates, Wendell Phillips and Carver elementary schools in the greater Kansas City area. Lee moved to Alexandria, Louisiana where he attended Jones Street Elementary School and Peabody High School. After moving back to Kansas City, Missouri, Lee competed and received his GED. Lee enlisted in the United States Army in 1964. He was stationed in Saigon. After serving time in the army, he returned to the United States with a heart of gratitude. He said when that plane got to the United States, as soon as he got off of it, he would get on his knees, kiss the ground and thank God for allowing him the opportunity to return to the United States. Lee married Martha Ruth. No children were born to this union. Later, the marriage was dissolved. Lee was employed at the Kansas City Veterans Hospital and the Kansas City School District. After retiring from the Kansas City School District, he later decided to take a part time job as a courier delivery driver for KC Route, until his health begin to decline. Lee Canada was baptized in Jesus Name on August 28, 1992 and filled with the Holy Ghost on January, 24, 1993 at Victorious Life Church, formerly Christ Temple Pentecostal Church, under the pastorate of Bishop Mark C. Tolbert, Sr. It was at the church that he had the pleasure of meeting Cleo Box. One day while Lee was walking down the aisle to give his offering, he yelled to Cleo, “ I am going to marry you!” After Cleo figured out what Lee said, she replied back, “ oh no you are not!” Well, Deacon Lee spoke it into existence. On August 28, 1993 Lee and Cleo were married and the rest was history. The Lord blessed them to enjoy 29 years of marital bliss. Cleo was blessed with a double portion; a loving husband who was also a loving father to her three children; W.C., James and Jacqueline. Lee enjoyed singing in the Voices of Thunder Men’s Choir and the Gospel Choir. He served on multiple ministries: Baptism, Drama, Married Couples and Transportation. In addition, he served family repast meals, assisted in the financial counting office, and served on the VLC Deacon Board. He also attended the Victorious Life Bible Institute. Deacon Lee remained a member of the church and continued to serve faithfully under the current pastor, District Elder Christopher Collier until his health begin to decline. Lee was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and brother who loved his family. Some of his most pleasurable times were the family road trips. Oftentimes, he and Cleo would travel with his brother, the late Jimmy Canada and his wife Karla. He took pride in being the designated driver; having a great sense of direction and mapping out key land marks to keep him on track and focused while driving. Some of the places he drove to included Louisiana, Arkansas, Chicago, Denver, Texas, Oklahoma, Michigan, Omaha, Branson and Springfield. Lee loved to travel, but he also loved being at home and enjoying a relaxed time with family. He loved sports. The Kansas City Chiefs was his favorite football team. Lee would DVR the KC Chiefs games. If the Chiefs won the game, Lee would watch the game by DVR. However, if the Chiefs lost, Lee would delete the game. Watching TV was one of his favorite activities. Lee loved and enjoyed watching westerns, Wheel of Fortune and other game shows. Occasionally, Lee would watch the Kansas City Royals Baseball games. He leaves to cherish his memory: his sweet heart and loving wife, Assistant Pastor Cleolia D. M. Canada, one son, WC Farmer III (Linnette); one daughter, Jacqueline R. Box; three grandsons, Mehki Lamont Douglas, DeAnthony Randolph and Derrick Amos, all of Kansas City, Missouri; one brother, Deacon Oliver Canada (Verna) of Alexandra, Louisiana; three sisters, Evangelist Ruthie Elliott of Chicago Illinois, Pastor Betty Black of Kansas City, Missouri and Lorraine Adams (Billy) of Springfield, Missouri; two very special sisters-in-law, Evangelist Karla Canada of Kansas City, Missouri; Jackie Canada of Alexandra, Louisiana; a brother-in-law, Lee Artis Box (Selma); and a host of very special nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, god-sons, god-daughters, friends and a loving and caring church - the Victorious Life Church Family. Funeral services Saturday, April 15, at 11:00am at Victorious Life Church. Visitation 10:00am-11:00am at the church. Interment Forest Hill Cem. Services entrusted to Lawrence A.
