Mr. David Truss

Obituary David “Big Diamond” Truss was born October 23rd, 1962 in Kansas City, Missouri to Mary L. Truss & the late Bob Truss. David was the middle son of this union. He received his education from the Kansas City Missouri School District where he graduated from Westport High School. David was Pentecostal. Two of his brothers, Robert & Paul Truss, sister Dyanna Truss-Powell, and nephew Joe Powell Jr. preceded him in death. David met the love of his life Michelle in 1989. They were married March 4th, 1994. With this union they created a loving blended family consisting of Ashleigh, Chance, Dachelle, Deidra, Dakarai and Jacquetta. David retired from the Kansas City, Missouri School District after thirty-two years of service. David enjoyed spending time with his children and most recently his grandchildren. David was lovingly called “Paw-Paw” by his grandchildren. His favorite pastimes were fishing and working with his hands. You could always find David and Michelle working on a project together. David also had a fondness for old-school cars and Impalas. David Truss passed away peacefully in his sleep on January 10th, 2022 at the age of fifty-nine. David leaves to cherish his memory, wife Michelle Truss; daughters Ashleigh Truss, Chance Truss, Dachelle Truss, Deidra Steadman (Patrick), Jacquetta Truss-Collins, and son Dakarai Truss; grandchildren Jayen Truss, Charli Steadman, and Kairo Vincent; his loving mother Mary L. Truss; siblings Harolyn Wesley (Gregory), Barbara Timmons (Willie), Rachel Hill and Ira Truss; sister-inlove, Chrystal Truss; brother-in-love Gary O’Field; special aunt Betty Johnson; special nieces, Tanisha Wesley, Tiaundra Wesley, Chrishawna Truss, Tramelle Miller (Rick), Aisha Williams (James), Ja’Lisa Powell, Tierra O’Field, and Kimberly O’Field; special nephews, Robert Fuhr III, Paul Truss Jr. (Donielle), Robert Truss Jr., Darryl Hill, Darris Hill, Casey Truss, Gary WoodsO’Field, and Isaiah Truss; special cousins Tony Rogers, Lee Brown, Ricky Brown and Clarence Johnson III; cherished friends Lutfi Khalifah, Sean Tomlin, Jerry Washington, and Hamp; a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, friends and loved ones. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, January 15, 2022, 11:00am at Watkins Heritage Chapel. Private Disposition. Visitation will be from 10am-11am at the chapel. Service conducted by Lawrence A.
