Mr. Cliver L. Britt

Cliver L. Britt, passed away on January 6, 2026. A man who was as gentle as lion, he was humble, smart and affectionate and when he saw his family he was loud, happy to see us and could not wait to see his family again. Cliver was named after his grandfather on his mother’s side Cliver Leo Graham. Born on March 10, 1963, in Columbia, Missouri to Vera LueVernia and Charles Edward Britt, Cliver was the sixth child of eight born to their parents. He was proceeded in death by his parents Vera & Charles Britt & Brother Charles David Britt. Our Brother While Home in Kansas City MO, Cliver obtained employment at Meliton’s Nursing Home as a Flow Tech Supervisor. In 1981, he migrated to Los Angeles, California and worked in the Manufactures Industry as a Forklift Driver for James Jones Company located in El-monte CA. Cliver was also known in the community to be one of the best pop lockers in town. He would join Pop locking competitions and usually take home the win! Cliver also enjoyed drawing art, building go carts, and he loved Rock & Roll, R&B, and Gospel. Leo was also a musician; he played the piano and (his daughter Chauntel also plays the piano) he also published a song that he never got credit for and he was a big KC Chief’s fan. Cliver later in life became disabled and was placed in a nursing home over the past eight years. Cliver (Uncle Leo) loved his nieces and nephews! He held a special place in their lives and hearts. Uncle Leo gave big hugs, love, laughter, and was always the loudest one cheering in the room especially if it was the Kansas City Chief’s playing in the background of a family gathering! Uncle Leo’s Love was steady, gentle, and comforting to all. Any good conversation with Uncle Leo started with a “How you doing” and an excited “Yea Buddy” was sure to follow. Uncle Leo was a bright light and the epitome of family love. One Loving memory that his daughter, Chauntel and his granddaughter, Keiran will always hold near is her sharing a dance with her grandaddy. With a light in her eyes, a huge grin on her face from ear to ear, and her grandaddy’s dancing feet, they for sure cut a rug that night! Pie-Pie loved visiting her Uncle Leo in the nursing home, where they would play cards, she would push him around in his wheelchair and they would share cheeseburgers and chicken nuggets. Usually, every visit ended with Uncle Leo sneaking his Pie-Pie a hand full of candy. Pie loved going to the store with her Granny to buy Uncle Leo’s Zoom Zoom’s and Wham Whams! Cliver’s sister, Vera and Admiral Britt were his primary care takers and protectors. Now Uncle Admiral was absolutely his brother’s keeper and did not play about his brother, Leo period! For sure a force to be reckoned with and trust and believe, nobody wanted that problem when it came to speaking up and advocating for his brother in whatever capacity. Cliver (Leo) was a Christian and enjoyed going to services at the nursing home. For him, it was a time to worship God, while also sharing kindness and companionship with residents who may have felt lonely or forgotten. Leo loved to worship through song and praise, and the services always reminded him that God’s presence would always be nearby. Cliver Leo Britt leaves to cherish his memory, his son, Sedrick and daughters, Chauntel and Cierra Britt; granddaughters, Jaya, Keiran & Keinah. Six siblings, sisters, Junita (Robert) Gunn, Lovie (Dan) Harris and Vera Britt; brothers, Micheal, Jessie & Admiral Britt. The oldest living relative on Cliver’s grandparents’ side is cousin, Jennie Britt and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Watkins Heritage Chapel 4000 Emanuel Cleaver II Blvd. KCMO 64130. Interment: Longview Memorial Gardens.
