Mr. Charles E. Williams

Charles Eugene Williams, 70, was born on January 14, 1953, to the union of Willie James Williams, Sr, and Corean (Jones) Williams in Kansas City, Missouri. He was the sixth of seven children born to this union and he was the glue that held everyone together. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Willie James Williams, Jr., Dorl Williams and Ronald Williams, three sisters, Willie Lee Williams, Clardine Williams and Mae Bertha Ward, three nephews, Oscar Williams, Sr., Oscar Williams, Jr. and William Brown, one niece, Sandra Kay Williams and brother-in-law, Ronnie Williams. Charles was educated in the Kansas City Missouri Public Schools. He was a hardworking man all of his life, he was employed at Bayer Corporation as a mechanical engineer for forty three years until he retired. With over four decades of service to this company is a testament of the man he was, truly dedicated. Charles was very family oriented, he loved his family and showed it every chance he had. He was the epitome of a man. He was a true protector and provider in every way. Not only for wife and children, but for his entire family. He did not mind stepping in whenever needed. Charles was well respected by all who knew him, he was dapper and loved to dress in the latest fashions. No matter the occasion he would dress up in a suit and fedora or dress down in a sweat suit and ball cap. He loved music, fishing, a good game of dominoes, his family and cooking. He made many meals for the family, he was a jack of all trades and mastered many of them. Charles will truly be missed by all who knew him, we will miss his love, good qualities and affection. He was a loving Husband, Pops, Pawpaw, Uncle Charlesy, C.W. and Charley. His legacy will live on through wife, children, grandchildren, family and friends. We will keep his memory alive. He departed this life on Sunday, December 3, 2023, surrounded by his loving family at Research Medical Center. He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 37 years, Lois Carter Williams; three sons, Mario Handy, Quentin Carter (Danika) and Chris Carter; brother-in-law, Willie Carter (Jeanette), three sisters-in-law, Annie Williams, Nettie Melson and Ann Crossian (Earnest), a host grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins and friends, one special cousin who like a brother, Roosevelt Hall, three best friends who have become like family, James Walker, Donald Hopkins and Malon Davis who talked everyday for hours. Funeral Service will be held Saturday, December 16, 2023, 2:00pm at the Watkins Heritage Chapel. Interment Blue Ridge Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1:00pm-2:00pm at the chapel.
