Carol E. Bly, passed away on June 18, 2025. Carol Estelle Bly, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully in Kansas City, Missouri. Born on February 16, 1953, in Kansas City to Elijah Robinson and Leona Jones, Carol lived a life full of joy, love, and selfless generosity. She was educated in the Kansas City, Missouri Public School District and was a proud member of St. Augustine Episcopal Church, where she found spiritual community and strength. As the youngest member of the Pioneers Club and a vibrant pillar of her community, Carol’s warm presence and giving heart left a lasting impact on everyone who knew her. On July 19, 1981, Carol married the love of her life, Albert O Bly Sr. Together, they shared 25 years of marriage rooted in love and companionship. A devoted housewife, Carol brought energy and light into every home she entered. Whether singing, dancing, fishing at Troost Lake, or cheering on her Kansas City Chiefs, she lived life fully and joyously. She especially cherished her time spent with family and her “beach family,” always bringing laughter, music, and heartfelt support to those around her. Carol was known for her boundless compassion—always ready to lend a hand, give encouragement, or open her heart to those in need. Her home and heart were open to many, including numerous adopted children who loved her dearly. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Albert O Bly Sr.; her parents; and stepparents; Leona Jones; Dolan Jackson; Elijah Robertson; and Mary Moore; her grandson, Darius L. Jones; brothers, Ronald Jones; Larry Jones; Dion Jones; Keith Moore; stepbrothers, Carl Moore; Victor Moore; and sisters, Lois Jones; and Tonda Jones. Carol leaves to cherish her memory, her children, Kathryn Jones (Welton); and Stephanie Bly of Lenexa, KS; and Albert O. Bly Jr. of Kansas City, MO; granddaughter, LaRaya Sirls (Keith) of Overland Park, KS; great-granddaughters, Kalaila; and Gabrielle; sisters, Patrice Nelson; Tina Jackson; Sharon Jones; Endrus Jones; Machelle Moore; Janet Moore; and Felicia Moore-Calhoun, stepsister; brothers, Dwayne Jones; Elijah Moore; Quentin Moore; Demetrius Moore; Reuben Moor; Marcus Moore; Donnell Moore; and Anthony LeMaster, stepbrother; As well as a host of nieces, nephews, and countless others whose lives she touched deeply. Carol’s spirit lives on through the love she gave so freely, the laughter she brought into every room, and the unforgettable memories shared with all who knew her.
