Obituary Brian Cedric Chamberlain, 59, a lifelong resident of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 15, 2021. He was born January 10, 1962, to Marilyn and Mosie Chamberlain, the fifth of ten children. As a child Brian gave his life to Christ, and throughout the years he had a love and reverence for the Lord. Brian graduated from Southeast High School. He attended Kansas City Vocational Technical Education Center from 1978-1980 and became certified in auto body repair. He already had experience in auto body work, having learned the trade in his father’s business growing up. Brian worked as an auto body technician for nearly forty years and was known for the excellent way in which he repaired customers’ vehicles. Always striving to do his best, Brian became certified as a master auto body technician. He also kept his Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification updated over the years. From 1983-1985 Brian served in the United States Army. During his tour of duty in which he was stationed in Germany, Brian was a mechanic and worked on tanks and other heavy equipment. He received several awards while in the service, including for marksmanship, M-16 expert, and hand grenade usage. In 1985 Brian met Sharon Jackson, also from Kansas City, Missouri, and they married a year later. They had two children, Valerie Ann and Brian Allen. Brian leaves to mourn his wife Sharon of nearly thirty-five years, a daughter, Valerie Ann Chamberlain of Los Angeles, California; a son, Brian Allen Chamberlain of Kansas City, Missouri; his mother, Marilyn Chamberlain of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; five sisters: Karen (Joseph) Presswood of Lawrence, Kansas, Darlene Chamberlain of Lee’s Summit, Marian Woodruff and Sophia Chamberlain, both of Kansas City, Missouri, and Bonnye (Dale) Brown of Greenwood, Missouri; three brothers: Darryl Chamberlain and Derek (Tomiko) Chamberlain, both of Lee’s Summit, and Glenn (LaTrina) Chamberlain of Omaha, Nebraska; sister in law Carolyn Graves of Kansas City, Missouri; brothers in law Jon Jackson of Kansas City, Missouri, and Robert Jackson of Liberty, Missouri; fourteen nieces, fourteen nephews, fourteen great nephews, thirteen great nieces, and a host of family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father Mosie Chamberlain, his brother Marc Chamberlain, and his nephew Ryan Presswood. Funeral services Saturday, June 26, at 11:00am at Metropolitan Missionary Baptist Church. Interment XII Gates Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 10:00am-11:00am at the church.
