Mrs. Beverly Ann Harper

Beverly Ann Harper passed away on May 1, 2026, at St. Luke’s East Hospital in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. Beverly Ann was born on April 25, 1944, in Kansas City, Kansas, to Richardene McClendon and Willis Maxwell. She attended Lincoln High School and later proudly earned her GED. In the late 1960s, she received her certification as an ordained minister at St. Mary’s Holy Tabernacle, beginning a lifelong walk with the Lord that shaped every part of who she was. Alongside her mother, Beverly continued her walk with Christ at Deeper Life in Christ Church in Kansas City, MO and went on to Tabernacle Baptist Church in Kansas City, Kansas after that. Beverly loved God deeply, and she loved her family just as fiercely. She was a bright light to everyone blessed enough to know her. Beverly was full of joy, laughter, and a warmth that made people feel instantly welcomed. Whether she was encouraging someone, praying for them, or simply sharing her infectious smile, she carried a spirit that lifted every room she entered. After many years at Western Electric/AT&T, she ended her career with the Internal Revenue Service as a Quality Clerk and faithfully served until her retirement on October 31, 2011. On February 14, 1975, she married her love, Leroy Harper, and they shared 40 years of marriage until his passing on April 2, 2015. Beverly Ann was preceded in death by her mother, Richardene Phillips, her husband, Leroy Harper, and her stepson, Anthony Harper. She leaves to cherish her memory, her children: Angela Jones; Michael Foreman (Nicole); and Tracie Williams (Kenneth). Her grandchildren: Kina Gunnels (Robb); Shaunese Dumas (Wilnor); Tamra Foreman; Taylor Walker (Derrick); Thomas (TJ) Cullen; and Gabrielle Cullen. Her great-grandchildren: Tysen Brennan; Madison Gleason; Karter Gunnels; Wilnor Dumas Jr.; Hannah Dumas; and Avalon Walker. Her stepchildren: Melody Harper; Maurice Harper; Mark Harper (Tiffany); Robert Harper (Kecia); Marlana Harper; LaVera Prewitt (Duane); and Christopher Winters. And her grand dog, Lola. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, loved ones and friends who will forever carry her memory in their hearts. Beverly will be remembered for her unwavering faith, her joyful spirit, and the love she poured into her family and community. Her legacy of kindness, laughter, and devotion will continue to shine through all who knew and loved her. Funeral Services will be held on Friday May 15, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Lawrence A.
